I've tried playing it several times now and at various stages of the game (once at the loading screen, once during the initial cut scene, once after I'd just defeated the ogre) it just stops working. I have downloaded the latest version of DirectX and my graphics are up to spec, I have no idea why it's doing this...is it just me? Or has this happened to other people too?<_<

Graphics: Medium
Renderer: DX9
V-sync: unckecked
Sometimes turning off AA also helps

There have been compatibility issues with hardware that meets the spec so it's always useful to post specs anyway (with driver versions), even if you meet the requirements. But in the case of the DA2 demo turning off v-sync can do miracles.

I did as suggested and have just finished the demo. I honestly have no idea what a v-sync even is but turning it off did the trick apparently.

V-sync synchronizes the refresh rate of the game and your monitor. If it's turned off it's possible that one half of the screen is a render of one frame while the other half is from an older frame. This drives some people, like me, insane.
