As for the game being played in Asia right now, that's because of the time difference, not because they have an earlier release date. So you can't use that as a debunking argument.

Edit: but let's stop this, lest it get out of control. I apologize if my wording has offended anyone. Actually I'm going to steer clear of the thread, it's becoming scary. ><

I dont consider using cracks as piracy when I already have purchased the game to bad the only lead I had was a fake, which i figured it would be, so i guess i dont have a choice but to wait.

The point's been made that nobody wants to feel that they're constantly being treated as if they were a second-class customer.  Once may not be so bad, but when it happens repeatedly it becomes annoying.  You'd get much the same reaction IRL if people were constantly told to go and wait at the back of the queue whenever someone from another country turned up, regardless of the reasons.

There's also the matter of spoilers, which will come thick and fast over the first few days.  It's not really on to simply say "well stay off the forums while we enjoy ourselves" (as someone said not in so many words a while back) and so on.

I have no idea why they insist on forcing release date checks on PC users, especially considering if you are connected to say, a work VPN in a country the game has already been released in the game will unlock just fine.

Console users: Great the day arrived 2 days early, I can play!
PC users: Oh... great... the game arrived 2 days early, now I have to wait for the release date.

How fair.

Believe me when I say that I do understand and I continue to argue for global release dates.  However, I disagree in how people are attaching emotions to this issue.

This is not a problem caused by Americans or an American company forcing a later release date in Europe.  I'm sure EA would love to get your money three days earlier.  This is a problem caused by European companies and European retailers demanding different release days than those used by American retailers.  If you think it sucks, you should be complaining to your retailer, not blaming the producer/developer for not being able to change a retailer's policy.  Why can't all retailers just agree to use the same date globally?  Because they're dumb?  I don't know.  I suspect its simply because they haven't found a reason, need, or method to consolidate yet.  

Maybe if we all complained to our retailers --the ones who actually cause this three-day European imprisonment-- instead of blaming the producer, we'd actually get somewhere.  But that's not popular, because its easier to blame a corporation in another country, than a shop down the street run by people you know.

Do I curse Amazon now or Bioware/EA for making it possible for me to sit in front of the booklet, listen to the soundtrack, stare at the launcher for a day without being able to get in? This is something greek mythology would have made up as a punishment in Hades. What do I get punished for? Being a faithful customer for over a decade? Deciding to preorder? Being "Non-North-American"?
And I cannot even get into that stupid facebook game, despite a registered copy, to get my brain away from that fact...
I mean, those different dates ARE unfair, but it's ok as long as you DON'T HAVE TO SIT IN FRONT OF YOUR PAID COPY FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG.

Depends on which country you're from, means which day the storekeepers decided to choose as "Game-Publish-Day". For me it's Thursday for example.
I find it sort of ridiculous that everyone tries to aim for "globalisation" whereas one of the industrial areas that SHOULD jump the train first with a "Yippiee!" decides for separation... and no, I do not care about the retailers stupid reasons for choosing a specific day of the week and no other.
I mean, as you can see at that nice "YOU CANNOT PASS!" tool, it IS possible to time a release world wide, despite time and date zones. However odd a time it may be for some countries (including mine). At least for preorders and digital downloads. Who doesn't care can still go to a store around the corner a day later.
Sorry for another rant. I'm just sick of being the one who always gets the boot up the shaft just because of living in the wrong area and deciding to be "paragon" instead of doing [IT-WHICH-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED]. It's about as fair as letting every single student of a whole school do detention because 5 students were late. Just to have them watch those 5 students who don't care about rules sneak out and play in the sun...

I'm mostly annoyed that they only included this on the PC version, both my lady and i received our copies today, mine on the PC hers on the PS3, we had planned to discuss the hopeful awesomeness of this game tomorrow after work... but now all i have to do is sit here and try and find something to do with an evening i had cleared of other work and things...

Bioware has lost a few of their awesome points in my eyes and probably the eyes of many of us... Bad call BW, bad call....

It was so anti-climatic to get this game in the post today, rip open the case and install the game just to met by this stupid DRM that only punishes paying consumer and no one else. so damm lame.
