I don't think there is anything wrong with saying black. They are not really black, but neither are all white people really white, especially not in summer. Then they are either tanned or red.Pawlem wrote...
I'm pretty sure he's just using the term "African American" as something other than being white.
Yeah, uh-huh, but that's not what I was getting at.

Are you saying african americans are not acrobatic?Jarcander wrote...
No, clearly he is a samurai, or quite possibly a ninja. Have you seen the acrobatics in the demo?
I was wondering this too. "He's not black, he's a ninja."
Hmm, I imagine Morrigan would respond here much like this...
"Yes! That's exactly it. You have seen thru my clever words to my true purpose, which was to promote racism."

Actually I thought you were just bashing the DA2 combat animations (again, yawn). But I guess I was wrong.

Ok to answer the OP. My Hawke's will be kinda close to the default but a bit healthier skin tone. Means I move the skin colour slider two or three steps to the right.
^ LOL XD
Anyway there are no races besides being an elf, dwarf, or human. My character is from Ferelden and possibly of Rivaini origins.

Actually the fact that I can play with the faces will most definately change that. Well probably not for the male Hawke since I probably stick with the default.BobSmith101 wrote...
Hawkes a white guy with a beard. Just because you can play with the faces will never change that.
It might change it for an individual but Hawke will always be the one on the poster.

Mine will be as close as possible to a "Vietnamese American". Whatever that is in Thedas, if anything at all.

Hell yes. I'm this big black guy, bald, thick beard, scarred, and supposedly I'm that kid's YOUNGER brother? Not to mention I was the only dark-skinned fellow...Basically anywhere. I just imagined myself adopted. Reeally thrilled that the family's features alter with my Hawke's.

Hawke will ever only exist in your head. So it's up to you really what he looks like. If you let a poster dictate his looks for you, ok, your choice.BobSmith101 wrote...

Indeed. My original point, which is rapidly becoming null and void, was that there are no samurai, ninja, africa, or anything from planet earth in Thedas. What was this thread about again? I forget.

I actually call white folks European Americans, and most don't take it well. Yet it's fine to constantly bring up part of a minority's ancestry all the time as if it's the defining feature that makes us different from "Americans."
Also, BobSmith, my Hawke is gonna be whatever I want my Hawke to be. Posterboy Hawke will be Bioware's Hawke. The existence of Posterboy Hawke doesn't invalidate that my Hawke is mine.

It's because of that that I think the Mage character is the only one that fits. Then that just becomes a bad joke considering you can be killed for

Actually, modern historical scholars are pretty much agreed (as much as scholars in any field ever are) that it all started along the fertile crescent in the middle east.
Not that it matters, but there you go.
