Actually, modern historical scholars are pretty much agreed (as much as scholars in any field ever are) that it all started along the fertile crescent in the middle east.
Not that it matters, but there you go.
Civilized agriculture yes. The modern human species no.

Yet it's fine to constantly bring up part of a minority's ancestry all the time as if it's the defining feature that makes us different from "Americans."
That would be a better argument if terms like "African American" or "Asain American" etc. weren't being used as an attempt to be culturally sensitive, rather than discriminatory as you suggest.

Yeah I've heard of that, plus some mummerings for it being China as well given some recent findings. Most people in US would not know either way, we only get new text books every ten years or so.elearon1 wrote...

As to playing as a black Hawke most likely......no. I feel no need to, I'll stick to default or maybe make a Jackie Chan/Jet Li look alike. But seeing the hair comment I suggest you play saints row 2, pretty much ALL the hair in that game only sorts black men or any race women. Most hair on there thats not "Hood style" looks like a punk rocker or an officeman.

Depends what you mean by "modern human species" I suppose; "modern" after all, would suggest civilization, which brings us back to my previous point. It all depends where one wants to draw the origin line at - why start with stone age men when we could start with the mamals they likely evolved from, and then the fish before them, and so on ...

While I absolutely agree with the bolded statement, the point still stands that the term is meant to be culturally sensitive, not discriminatory. Additionally, as many black people insist on the one as the other, (or used to, I haven't heard "african american" used as much in the last decade) so you can't claim one culture is using this to label another. (apparently the OP prefers AM despite all conflicting setting information, and that is his choice, not something be forced on him)

Some people think we came from aliens:blink:I still have no comment on that theory.I think the ME Devs took notes from the alien made humans theory.

I bet it sucked. What are you talking about? The steelers sadly dashed away my Jets Super Bowl dreams. The Giants got "shut out" by the cheese head packers.
During the regular season the Packers shut the Jets out. In October, I think.

American africans only live in america though I guess. Or mostly. i mean in europe they would be called ... european africans then? Or in asia asian africans? Why not say black if it is short and everyone instantly knows what they mean?elearon1 wrote...

It's a shame there aren't elves in the real world. Then we could all focus our racial angst toward them, instead of being so concerned with how light or dark-colored our skin is.
