Any word from your friend who sent the specializations regarding companions? Its not essential, but would definitely benefit a lot of users pre-release.

So... How about those Assassins, Shadow's, and Duelists? What will they have to offer?

"OH NOEZ, I HATE NO AUTO BACKSTAB IN DA2 1111!"

6. Predator
Requires: Level 13
Requires: Disorienting Criticals
Points required in Shadow: 5
Shadows
are particularly deadly when they manage to flank their foes. Whenever
the shadow strikes an enemy from behind, whether with a basic attack or
using a talent, the attack now always results in a critical hit.
Critical chance: 100% for flanking attacks
Type: Passive ability
Type: Upgrade

I knew I was on to something when I said it would be a good practice to get accustomed to keeping your Rogue behind enemies and that the Backstab ability has a reason for planting you directly behind them...

Adrenaline = 20 stam for 5% damage while sustainable is active which drains stamina each hit? That's a lot of stam req... Useless?

Seemingly so unless you're sitting at 200+ stamina.  Even then it doesn't seem like it's worth the bother over just going straight STR.

It's going to be disappointing if mage specs don't have a lot of cheap, OP abilites... I understand Bioware wanting to make the other classes more powerful, but this is a little over the top IMO.

You auto "backstabbed" but you did not auto crit special abilities in Origins for flanking.

Yes. I have to spend:
Requires: Level 13
Requires: Disorienting Criticals
Points required in Shadow: 5

So cheap. I don't imagine I'll be using those threat dump abilities either.

9. Vendetta
Requires: Level 11
Requires: Throw the Gauntlet
Requires: Parry
Points required in Duelist: 2
Every duelist, even an archer, knows that the most memorable fights happen at close quarters...and that the first strike is the most crucial. To gain that advantage, the rogue vanishes behind a cloud of smoke, then strikes the enemy viciously from behind. This ability can be used from across the battlefield, for few rogues are as capable of moving under stealth as a duelist.
Physical damage: 99
Physical force: 2x
Cost: 40 stamina
Cooldown: 40s
Type: Activated ability

------------------------------------------
Uber teleport backstab.

That might be what Peter was talking about as far as an ability that is really good for Rogues that use both melee and Ranged abilities.  You can basically have your daggers equipped and use this to kill something (teleport) out of the way when you're getting surrounded and then switch to a bow.  It's an assassination escape.

I'm loving the Rogue specializations. And all of the specializations have a lot synergy within their trees. Building characters is going to be a lot of fun.

DaggerFiend - that is oh so true thus far of every class I think. DA2 just has waaay more possibilities as far as characters to build. A Shadow Duelist would be pretty sexy, almost opposing styles but I could see them working out well together.

Though Something tells me Assassin is going to be the best to pair with either of them.
