1. I'm grateful to Naitaka, I've said it, I've expressed it in both this specializations and the normal skills threads.
2. I never said I wasn't grateful or anything bad, I flipped the F out because Assassin is ompletely overpowered in my opinion, and from what I've seen Force Mage and Blood Mage are incredibly short trees with no upgrades and no passive abilities so I find it unfair specially when I had the most fun with mages.
3. It's just a couple of hours tops, but considering I've been waiting a long time, and my biggest interest was mages, I simply don't find it cool having to wait even more, specially when it's already midnight.
I'll most likely wait even past midnight, because yeah, I wanna see my mage build and plan it before I get my hands on the game.
Assassin Rogue for the overpowered and cheap win (FT*opac*W!)

I'm not ungrateful and I didn't mean type it all in one sitting. I'm saying that instead of posting 1/3 of the specs then going to bed he could of just typed as much as he wanted and take breaks whenever he wants, then posted it when everything was ready.

I agree. Some people can't be happy with anything, in reality they should be happy they get anything at all.Eurypterid wrote...

I do. Rogue is my favorite class. Be patient. The guy's doing us all a huge favor. Some people here could be a little more grateful.
EDIT: Naitaka doesn't have to go to the trouble, he gives the extra time and effort for our benefit. We should be grateful.

Not true. Blood Mage, and Force Mage is just as large as the other trees.
Here is the blood mage tree. From Dragon Age wikia as an example..

It shows 5 base options but keep in mind the upgrades are hidden.
Here is the Templar tree.

It has 5 base options as well. The only difference is that its upgrades are shown, and its only shown because its selected. Don't worry. Everything will be alright for the Mages..(I hope)

First one is probably the sustained, far right looks like blood control, and middle looks like the AoE one in Origins which escapes my memory (Blood Wound?)
Other then that I can only guess more!

Pretty much, only this time. Blood Wound is Hemmorage now, and it doesnt stun.(Atleast without upgrades).

I just realized. There no sustained ability requirement to use skills like Assassinate and Vendetta. Wowza!
Why would there be? They already have prerequisite skills, cost 40 stamina and have long cooldowns.

Agreed mostly. You need only one out of Shadow/Duelist. Either you stealth, or you tank. Assassin does seem to be only useful against bosses.Atmosfear3 wrote...
So from what I understand reading the various rogue specs...
Shadow = Sustained DPS spec with utility powers
Duelist = Rogue tank spec
Assassin = Boss killers or targets that are extremely tough
Anybody care to discuss?
I run primarily DW Rogue. There are 2 paths:
(1) Shadow/Sabotage/Subterfuge. Focus on Stealth/Distraction
(2) Duelist/Scoundrel/Specialist. Focus on Tanking/DPS
Assassin will never be the first spec because it doesn't enhance survivability and only enhances single-target damage (which the Rogue is already very good at).
I think I'll end up taking Duelist as first spec and mostly focus on it, and use Assassin/Shadow only as embellishment later on. Throw the Gauntlet looks like too much fun, especially when you use it on an enemy from afar, or immediately escape from him with Vendetta/Back-to-Back.

I don't feel that he should drop everything and give me the info as fast as possible. I am really glad he has this info and actually bothered to post it in a neat and organized way. The only thing that annoys me about it is that he posted this info in chunks with a nine hour interval. The way he's done it has us all waiting for the next piece of info to come whenever. If he posted it when everything was ready, nobody would be waiting for anything.

Hmm yeah you must be right, haven't seen upgrades, don't know what the sustained does or what it conditions us to do. Let's hope both Blood and Force are fine with upgrades and all, cause I hate Spirit Healer.
I'll be positive until then.
I said it they were short since they had no passives (well, force has one...) and because I saw no upgrades.
My mistake I guess. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

But two thirds of the people who wanted information would have nothing. Stop being so selfish.
You could always just go to sleep or do something else and hope that it is up in the morning.
Anyone who comes into this thread with out a deep sense of gratitude for work Naitaka is doing for us has a freakish sense of entitlement.
Even though I'm most interested in the mage, if Naitaka doesn't type another word, I thank him for all the effort he's put forth. He owes us nothing. This thread and his previous, with Peter's comments on it, have given me more information about DA2 than all other sources combined.
Thanks again Naitaka, and I hope you understand that the whiners with the gross sense of entitlement don't represent the majority of us who greatly appreciate your efforts.

What about Pinpoint Strikes? 100% Crit chance for 10 seconds... 20 seconds with the upgrade. Isn't that good vs. a large group of enemies, especially with the additional Crit Damage Assassins can get? +10% + double the bonus from Cunning (if you take Devious Strikes). Whatever normal rogue skills you have are enhanced by +5% stamina per kill... I don't know. It seems to me that this spec is mostly effective against bosses, but it can also clear a room pretty easily.

Still can't decide whether I want to play a Warrior or Rogue, but right now leaning towards Rogue. I figure I can build the rest of my party to aoe dps/cc while I single handedly wipe out tough foes.

All of you are forgetting that you can be an archer and get all of that too.
Archers AoE + assassin buff is also very good, so it isnt just single target.

Fist of the Maker: The mage slams enemies into the ground with incredible power, against which armor is no protection
Gravity Ring: The mage redirects the gravity in an area to significantly reduce the enemies' speed. The closer an enemy is to the center of the spell, the greater the effect.
Telekinetic Burst: The mage summons a wave of telekinetic force that hurtles enemies away from the core of the blast.
Pull of the Abyss: The mage conjures a maelstrom of energy that draws enemies to its center while slowing them to a crawl.
---
Spirit Healer:
Group Heal: The mage restores the health of all allies simultaneously with a surge of creation magic (Healing aura must be active)
Revival: The mage revives all allies who have fallen in battle, returning themto life with some of their health and mana or stamina restored (Healing aura must be active)
No more cooldown abilites for Spirit Healers, must are passives and actives.
--
Finally abilities for Blood Mages:
Hemorrhage: The spell corrupts the blood of all foes in a targeted area, inflicting damage over a short duration without regard for enemy armor or damage resistance
Grave Robber: The blood mage consumes the residual life force from nearby enemy corpse to regain health
Sacrifice: The blood mage sucks the life force from an ally to regain health
Blood Slave: The mage enslaves a target, forcing it to fight alongside the party for a short time, after which the victim dies unless it is particularly powerful.
---
Drool over what could be from that.
