Berserker and reaver look pretty good.

Templar looks good. The last passive ability completes the Elemental Aegis talent from the Defender tree for me.

4. Silence
Requires: Level 12
Requires: Cleanse
Points required in Templar: 2
The templar surrounds a foe in negative energy, preventing the enemy from activating abilities for a short time.
Silence chance: 100%
Duration: 20s
Cost: 25 stamina
Cooldown: 45s
Type: Activated ability

... Short?

Seems like Templars will be real anti-mages this time around. And 50% passive magic resistance? Wow, you'd have to be a fool to pass up on Templar.

Wow. Annullment = 50% magic resist? OP much lol. That plus the defender tree Aegis Of The Elements gives 50+40 = 90% spell resist.

If enemy Templar have any of those abilities available to them, magehawke is pretty much screwed.

By the way, thank you for staying up so late to write these out.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with that assertion. I thought BioWare didn't want to trivialize enemy mages?

I think Templar is far too powerful. That spec will trivialize enemy spellcasters again. It must be the devs' favorite class. Reaver sounds like a good spec for a tank, although the cooldown of devour is a bit long.

Yeah, 20s is a long time, looks like it might put dampener on assassins too.

EDIT: Maybe picking up the Templar spec is gonna have heavy consequences with some of your squadmates, you might end up with no mages in your party.

With Berserker active every point into Willpower adds to damage. (by .5 at max stamina) Zerkers who pump points into willpower will do pretty well. With 400 Stamina you get 40 bonus damage (60 after upgrades)

call me crazy but reaver looks like an awesome tank specialization. templar does too, but i think reaver would be more fun.

As long as you don't use the self damaging abilities Reaver would make a good tank, you take damage your damage goes up. Plus Devour heals (once every 2 min sigh).

Templar is actually anti-mage this time around, even though I'd like some another more aggressive anti-magic tool, like spell reflect or damage caused on every spell used... but I like DA2's Templar better than the Origins' variation.

That's what I had feared. Now we'll probably see Templars with 100% magic resistance become the new arcane warriors (there really should be a cap). I guess I'll just have to resist the temptation if I want a challenge.

I agree. My S&S warrior will focus on the sword and shield, templar and defender trees first.
