Dammit Naitaka, why did you post this?

I had myself convinced I was playing a mage first.

Thanks for making me start questioning that again. Jerk.

You get more then 20 points, basically get 1 point per lvl its been pseudo-confirmed we'll get extra 'stuff' via 'things'. but basically, in a little deducing from Zher it looks like we can expect to be around lvl 25 by end game. That was as of last night based off end-game stats Aveline had in Str/Cun/Con. Total amounted out to about 75 to spend which would of been +25 lvls worth (which could of meant lvl 26). To be safe im saying 25 though as we don't know her 'exact' base stats.

So basically by 'end game' I would expect about 25-ish points to spend but, its never a good idea to build max, always build half that to ensure you have core abilities as early as possible. Doing otherwise invites a whole lot of frustration till your higher lvl.

Oh I see, had no idea about that, thanks for explaining!

yeah and the absolute max is lvl 50, but thats kinda impossible to reach outa the box. Kinda like how DAO had a max of 25 but you wouldn't get any higher then about 22. Just a lot more room for expansion with DA2.

Berserker sounds sick. I was going to do a male Mage first, but now im thinking of doing a female 2H Warrior first. Hmm... What to do, what to do.

The class specializations have been up for almost two weeks now I think.  We've known what the specializations were, just not the skills in the trees.

I can't help but wonder if Justice/Venegance will be the one to teach Reaver.

Either which way, the specializations truly seem like choices that need to be considered this time around. Especially if picking one may have an effect on how your companions treat you.

The final talent in the Templar tree looks fine for tanking, but nothing else in any of the trees really seems all that great for tanking. It's kind of a shame. Maybe they'll have introduced a good tank specialization by the time I get around to playing a warrior.

Zulmoka, I don't think any companions teach specializations. I'm pretty confident that all (or at least most) are trained via trainers or quest rewards. There are a whole hell of a lot of 'factions' in Kirkwall not just the main 3. Says in the description 'True Reavers have tasted the blood of dragons'. To me that sounds like a ritual of some kind that you go through as a reward for helping out some people. Could be blood mages, could just be some dude who found an ancient book detailing out the thing.

To back up my theory if you read all the Rogue specializations on the site, they all literally say someone could train you in Kirkwall 'there's masters to be found' blah blah. So that's where my money is at, each specialization is going to be more like what Isabela was. NPC out there who can train you, opposed to books and companions.

That and Ander's 'Vengence' is a Spirit living through him as a vessel. It has nothing to do with Reaver's but more like a perverse Spirit Healer thing. Which his Specialization is split between, 3 Spirit Healer stuff and a few other all unique to him talents.

This is why you should just use Aveline if you want a tank (or possibly another companion).  Her tree is ALL about tanking.

That's true. However I was thinking more along the lines of the Dragon Age Origins Reaver description and it's correlation to Justice's "Spirit warrior" also being perverted by Justice's conversion into a demon of  sorts. However you raise a very valid point into how specilizations may be taught in Dragon Age 2. I was just throwing my opinion on such things things out there.

But I'd rather poke my eyes out with burning hot metal than use her.

Berserk and Adrenaline seem to be a bit counter intuitive. Like, Berserk give you more damage the more stamina you have and Adrenaline drains 20 stamina for a damage boost. It just seems kinda odd to me. Add to that you must be in berserk to activate Adrenaline. I'm just hoping that Berserk won't drain all my stamina in 30 seconds or something like that.

I'm not a huge fan or her, either.  But there are enough rogues in the game that I'll never have to use her if I don't want to.  But if I want to make the ultimate tank, it's kinda lame that Hawke will never be as good at it as Aveline.
