I've been reading old threads about hak and override precedence and I'm reading conflicting information. Some people say that override always takes precedence, but others say they've tested it and sometimes .hak takes precedence.
Here is what I am interested in. I have customized about 8 spell scripts. I also am trying to make my game compatible with kaedrin's. When I had kaedrin's in my override, it overrode the scripts in my campaign folders (as expected) and the cusom scripts no long did what they were supposed to.
As a last ditch effort, I put the custom scripts into a .hak and associated it with my module and it worked again! But I am skeptical and concerned there may be lurking problems somewhere.
So, do you think I will run into problems by trying to override the override with the .hak?
I am trying to avoid building kaedrin's into my game and just keeping my game compatible so that I won't have to modify my game for future kaedrin's updates. I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible.
Tricky hak vs override precedence question...

Last I heard hak takes precedence, which makes sense. If you want something to work and cannot be overridden then use a hak. Your own testing proves this. Why remain skeptical?
For compatibility the best you can do is hook to the scripts Kaedrin has documented. But if he ever releases a new version that modifies other standard scripts you may no longer be compatible. There is no 100% guarantee of future compatibility really.

Thanks for the reply. I just want to be as sure as possible.
