IRL I call all dogs furball. So, probably furball. As with fluffy or some such, the contrast amuses me, as well.

I may take a hint from the young Anti-Christ in "Good Omens: The nice and accurate prophecies of Agnus Nutter, witch" and name the dog "Dog". Or possibly "Pooky".
