Anyone have any thoughts on why animations can fail to export? I'm going a bit loopy on one very short cutscene. I know that I have added 'facial' animations to actors before and had success but now they simply are not exporting.
I have an actor, closeup of the face showing the eyes, eyes blink once, eyes blink again, then eyes close. That's it. Functions as it should in cutscene editor. When I try and export it fails to export the animations and I just get dumb staring eyes.
Any thoughts?

Are you using FaceFX studio? If so, make sure you do not have copies of the same facial animation in other layers, it will give you an error if so.
If this is not the case and you still used FaceFX, make sure you save your cutscene before exporting.

I haven't touched facefx studio. I could have sworn that I just stuck down a normal animation track in the past and plopped in facial animations and that worked but it must be my imagination, it must have just worked in the cutscene editor and I must not have tested it in game.
I will have to go back to the drawing board and read up on face fx. And what you need to do to place down a 'facial animation' track.

I've never used Facefx studio for facial animations.(unless generated from a convo) Always mixed and matched the ones available in the animations listings. When you say fail to export, do all the other animations export? I've never experienced this. (other than a mismatched cut and cub file after bad renaming)
Also, there is a blinking animation, (don't have the name offhand) which seems to cause random blinking. Could it be that you may have to move the animation left or right to see the blinks?
What were you using?

I stopped mid reply and tried something else and found the problem, something I should have known or remembered.
I had no other animations other than the eye blinks, they did not work. I added a body animation after the eyes blink part and that animation worked.
I added an animation at the start (a bit of an idle animation) that played in conjunction with the eyed blinking and then the eyes worked.
Seems to me I knew this from before and just forgot but you need some kind of animation on the character before the eyes blinking works.
