There are multiple threads on this topic that contain links to the interview. In one instance he is quoted as saying this in response to people like me having problems with DA2...
"It doesn't tell the usual fantasy story or present the usual fantasy combat, and in doing so it does run the risk of someone going, "Wow, this is just too different and I cannot handle it."
Translation...I'm old and outdated and lack the ability to deal with change. That's an insult!
Oh come on! Are you going to act as if you've never heard about his comments in those interviews? I find that very hard to believe for someone so quick to challange my comments.
For more...read the interview.
Oh I am very familiar with those threads...and interviews. Posted in several of them and was never given any response when asking where he was actually commiting the travesty that people make him out to be commiting. I on the other hand posted a very large response in providing quotes where he says quite the oppoiste (that they are taking feedback seriously...that DA2 is not perfect...that they are going to go back to equipping companions, hence listening to the feedback....etc...Ill post it here if I can find it.)
Even the one example you posted is a prime example in my opinion of reading way too much into what he is saying. Could it have been said a little differently? I think so. But its hardly an insult. People are angry and want someone to crucify for this "travesty" that is a video game.

I believe I'm intelligent enough to decide for myself when I feel as though I've been insulted. Further, I am quite capable of gauging my own reactions as I see fit. You may not feel as though those comments were insults or thinly veild jabs at DAO, and that's fine. That dosen't change the fact that many others read it differently. You cannot decide for others how they should feel or react. Generalizing everyone with problems with DA2 as some sort of mob out for blood is ridiculous. You disagree...leave it at that. I'm secure enough in my own opinions that I don't need to tell someone how they should feel.

I liked DA:O and I love DA:2 so give Mike Laidlaw a raise and tell him to keep on keeping on. Fix the bugs that are there, thanks to EA rushing it out. Other than that, best game of 2011!

Considering he's almost single-handedly destroyed the DA franchise, that statement made me sick. If EA had any sense, they'd do what ever they could to rehire Knowles, let him take direction and kick Laidlaw to the curb where he belongs.

First of all, I never insinuated anything about your intelligence. Being insulted has more to do with your feelings than with your intellect. You can gauge your reactions however you would like but that does not make your reactions warrented of justified. To make a comment like "He bashes DA:O (when he doesn't) and he insults its fans" is a bit harsh don't you think? If you want to be insulted by the comment he made, then that is up to you. But that does not mean he is the retard/jerk that people are making him out to be.....just because you were insulted by something he said.
And I NEVER generalized poeple with problems with DA2 as a sort of mob. Ever. You know why? Because I too have problems with DA2, and that would be putting myself in that category. I was clearly refering to the people in this thread and others that have made brash self entitled posts about how he should be fired etc, along with posting inappropriate images all because they were insulted by something he said and that they think he "ruined" their precious. Its absurd and quite disgusting. People really need to get some perspective.

I think I've made myself quite clear. It's obvious to me that you're only motivation here is to challange ANYONE who does not agree that DA2 is the greatest thing since the discovery of fire! I have no problem agreeing to disagree. I do however take issue with pointless debates and challenges simply because someone needs to argue. You are welcomed to your opinions. There is no need to continue this particular discussion. My part in it ends here.

I love bioware, and it's not fun to
bash bioware, it's like punishing your kid after they get an F, you
don't want to do it because they're usually an all around good kid, they
do they're homework and get great grades in all the other classes, they
just failed this one, and for that were not going to coddle them they
need to learn from they're mistakes like a kid and then they can go on
to excel in that class next time.
