It seems to me some people have a very hard time accepting the fact that people are ALLOWED to think for themselves and express their opinions. I have no problem with people who are head over heels for DA2. But they sure can't stand the fact that anyone could possibly disagree with them. If you do, you're immediately  labeled trolls, haters, etc. Understanding that people aren't always going to agree seems to be a difficult concept to grasp. Why that is, who can say?

It's not just the fans hating the haters (irony?) we have the haters hating on the fans for them expressing their opinions.

But of course people will jump on the argument train anyways and go find threads to stir up trouble in.

lol  You quoted my statement before I had the chance to revise and correct. I agree with you. People who look for trouble usually find it. And when they do, they act surprised.

Sometimes I think they're just trolling for the fun of it. What else would they expect from making confrontational posts?

Some of the major issues I have with DA 2 seem to be in the realm that a LEAD DESIGNER might be concerned with. How would Mike Laidlaw not be involved in this? Is this thread for another person named Mike Laidlaw that is from Canada who is a professional florist or something?

It would be nice if people found their own voice instead of quoting popular cliches and sayings such as "haters gonna hate" especially when so few are hating. Criticism is not always a bad thing and hate is hardly it's only motivation.

I wish Mike Laidlaw the best in life, but I sure hope he isn't a Lead Designer for Bioware, even if they make a first person shooter.

Shhh, don't give them ideas! then the next DA will be like Oblivion, without the option of third person view.

I agree, seems nice enough, wish him luck in life, but not as a lead dev.

Baelyn, forget about the haters. Haters gonna hate. Funny thing is they are all still posting on a forum for a game they supposedly hate. Talk about irony. Speaks volumes. Game was released with a lot of bugs. Not Laidlaw's fault. Point your fingers where they belong or QQ more.

This is the reason most people are here. I think this is well put!

I love bioware, and it's not fun to
bash bioware, it's like punishing your kid after they get an F, you
don't want to do it because they're usually an all around good kid, they
do they're homework and get great grades in all the other classes, they
just failed this one, and for that were not going to coddle them they
need to learn from they're mistakes like a kid and then they can go on
to excel in that class next time.

The thing is, if the kid has an F and his parents tell him ''Hey no problem its okay'' he'll most likely get another F next test. Why? Because he'll think his parents are retards who'll swallow everything. He might, for example, tell his parents ''Yeah F is the way I'm going right now, I think its much more appealing than the A. See whenever I get an F something AWESOME happens''

Eem, it goes without saying that this is NOT the collective sentiment of the fandom.

Mrbananagrabber The problem with your analogy is that Mike Laidlaw is a comptent adult who went on record and said some lets say strange clames about the game and the dao fanbase. therefore he became personaly atached to those clames. you cant use the 'its just a kid defence on this, sorry. I use the word strange because I dont understand the intent of some of what he was saying and I dont want to put words in his mouth. Futher he was the DA2 point man it was his vission and his direction meaning he has to take the flak or the praise acordingly.

Jesus, looking at this thread it's easy to see why Bioware thought they could rush out a sh*tty game and people would still buy it. The early commenters in this thread had their tongues completely up Bioware's arse.

The problem with this is that if you were making a videogame for your customers, and then your customers decided to crucify you for one freaking game, you wouldn't feel like listening to them, logically, because they don't comprehend what goes into the process of making a game. so, Horus, I must ask if you could develop a videogame that would fit your vision of the franchise, and market it accordingly. why not? you seem to be a wise person who *obviously* knows how to make a videogame flawlessly. I must say, though, even though I don't know you personally, I don't think that you would be unable to achieve success.

It's a bit similar to when you tell a teen that you dont like the band he listens to. Bit of a freak out follows.

I've said this in other threads I dont think the reaction is baced on one game. First you have the rediculas pr mess that was the "Awesome" button. Next you have to look at the genral trend in meta data. which basicly go's like this x demographic never got past the begining of amazing game A. Now there are a few ways a dev team can take that, ether thay try and facter in the time and socal preasures or thay can go GMG people are quiting this part its to complex its all bad lets streemline it all and fast cause the numbers dont lie. Add to that some crasy interviews about a clasic game belonging in a time capsul, and a (jets be honst here less than stellar game touted as "Awesome". Then perhaps you can understand why people cant just handwave things away.

i'm sure if it was share holders you would expect them to hold people to account for any miss steps. bioware fans are very loyal its somthing bioware depend on and use all the time. Most of the time we dont mind because there is a level of respect, however when that respect is in doubt though word and actions you have to expect a reaction. There is no handwaving away those choises or a reset option.

Funny because I could have sworn they both graduated from M. Night Shyamalan' school of "Tale Spinning". Laidlaw apparently slept through "How to Convey Passage of Time in a Video Game" however.

I feel he believes the consumers are idiots when he describes the copy and pasted sections of the game(of which there are many) as "artfully done". Sorry sir, you're not going to pull that one over on us.

yeah, but that's because it was Laidlaw who said it ... in an awesome way

Yeah, that's David Silverman, the producer, not Mike Laidlaw.

Mike is the greatest human being that ever lived....except for maybe Chuck Norris.

His greatness is such that his mere presence caused DA2 to wither in comparison to such magnificence. People around him were blinded by His radiant light (that's why the art and level design is such..they couldn't see).
Mike is AWESOME incarnate. He's too good for this sinfull earth!!!!!

Leave him alone you jerks!!!:crying:

errr..... when I go to a game shop to BUY the game... :?

If I blame X for screwing up something then I tend not to buy future products from/of him/it. Like if I see EA/Bioware ruining DA franchise... I wont pre-order or even I wont buy it...

I thought customer's opinion didnt matter as they buy the game and eventually Companies and developers get their income from customers....

did that change last time I bought a game or it didnt
