I initially had release day shipping for the DAII SE, but I had it marked for the wrong address (my home address instead of college apt. address), and when I changed it, I couldn't select release day, so I just did 2-day (Amazon Student gives that free). I complained to support and they said that release date should be available, but since I couldn't chose it, they marked it for overnight shipping for free. Right now it's saying March 10th, but my previous experiences lead me to think it will probably get here on the 9th, and that is just a safe estimation from Amazon. I have a big test the 8th, so it's probably better that I don't get it that day anyway.

I was thinking they'd have shipped by now, especially since they're pulling out of my state. It'll probably take at least two days to arrive. I don't want to get it late.

I'm hoping it's one of the occasional cases where they don't update the status until late. I've had a couple times where they didn't even tell me it shipped until after it arrived.

Then again, one of the previous times I selected release date delivery, they didn't even start shipping until release day. No bueno.

As far as I know, you can't change to release day shipping. Only choose it when you order.

Same problem with the EA Store, except it doesn't really help that your order details don't show up in your history until the game you preordered ships.

Well, if my preorder of Fable III with release day shipping is anything to go by, I'd say it'll ship via UPS Monday and should arrive sometime on Tuesday (I live in Texas and an Amazon shipping facility is no more than 10 miles east of my location). Fable III arrived around 10:10AM on release day, but time is always subjective. Could arrive later, could arrive earlier.

Maker knows I'll be parking my arse next to my mailbox around 8:00AM. Too psyched for the game to simply keep refreshing the "check delivery status" page every second using my laptop inside my home. Hm, come to think of it, if I brought my laptop with me, the wireless signal is still strong, so in theory, I could replay the DA2 demo, surf BSN, even check LJ whilst waiting for my game to arrive. Something to consider.

I can't wait for my game too ship!! UPS usually gets in around 10:30 A.M. for me so I hope it makes that shipment! I have class till 12:30 and then DRAGON AGE the rest of the day!

The Amazon servers sometimes take time to change your status from "not yet shipped" to "Shipped." I've had orders from them that arrived and yet the page still said "shipping soon." I once had an order that arrived while it still said "not yet shipped."

This happens a lot with release day things, especially games, since so many people are going to order them and choose release day delivery. It also depends upon where the nearest amazon depot is from you.

If you live in Boston, for example, it might not change to "shipped" Until tuesday morning since there is a shipping depot for Amazon in Boston. I have never had a problem with their shipping, nor have I ever gotten a release date deliver late.
