I know how long it takes to drive from here (central Minnesota) to Edmonton, and all I can say is...why didn't you announce this last week?!?

It is impossible to get there from here in that amount of time. Last time I left on July 9, and I didn't get to Calgary (Banff) until about the 13th. So....not enough time to drive.

Polar bears? Yeah, right. But you do have some Grizz's and blackies. They are bad enough.

It is a beautiful drive, though...in summer anyway. Not so sure about now. Too cold to camp. So I guess I will have to settle for my local gamestop.

If there were enough time, I'd offer to drive, and have room for 5 passengers. (I have a motorhome, so yeah, it's realistic.) But my bed I don't share. Bring your bedrolls. Next time you send out a party invite, give folks enough time to get there!

Ummm... -17 c? Not too cold. Few nights ago, we had -17F. But, here's a "bet you didn't know this" item: at -40, Fahrenheit and Celcius are the same!

So no matter how you look at it, -40 is brutal. At -40, my car don't start, so I won't be coming.

We've been in the same situation: my girlfriend ordered it in early january from there because she works in that mall. Here's hoping for a not-too-freezing weather, since we're too going to use public transportation to get to Southgate.

What were you driving, a Vanagon?  I've driven from New York to Denver (about the same distance as Ohio to Edmonton, according to Google Maps) in two days.  (I drove back, overnight, in a blizzard.)  It's not that difficult.

Granted, if you're the type who falls asleep at the wheel, I could see this being problematic, but even the longest, boringist drive doesn't put me to sleep.  Maybe I should get a job as a long haul driver or something.

I suspect they didn't announce it earlier because they're not equipped to handle masses of people, and given the response some people really would drive six or eight hours (or more!) to be there.

The good thing is that at least you (if you are a PC user that is) got plenty of time to download the high-res texture pack before even installing the game .
