not that I'm buying DA/2 because they forced me via enuendos that I had to keep Morrighan, play all the way to level 35 in the add-ons and then allude to that char being portable into DA/2 which was clearly not true, however from what I have read and seen via Bioware's own tech teams, you need a tank to be a meat shield and you need a rogue to pull aggro to the tank so my guess is that you will need Isabella more than Merril.Romance with a toon? lmfao..w/e. Real answer: don't know. The guide didn't mention anything regarding gender. My money's on yes, for the sake of consistency, but there's really nothing to back it up 

After the game comes out, I seriously need to pin down one of the writers and ask them about all the LIs being bi.

You need a dev quote that badly? I think you just use Mr. Gaider's "People are idiots" for anything and everything. Are they all bi? "People are idiots." Is Hawke the OGB? "People are idiots." Why can't companions choose a second specialization? "People are idiots."
