Guys, it's all subjective. Someone thinks that Merrill looks like a child or a teenager, fine. It's their opinion. To me she look like that, but I saw no reason to fight about that. I respect what they said. Unless they insult us, I don't see any reason to fight about that.
The same thing goes for the other side. It's useless to fight, since you can't change the other's opinion

Well I REALLY want to be with isabella but Seeing as my first playthrough is leaning towards mage...I'm going to need an equal by my side to help me conqueor tho the Idea of giving isabella some class and honor is appealing...we'll see.

I'm playing as a female Hawke on 2 playthroughs and male Hawke on 1 playthrough, and definitely going with Isabela on the male Hawke playthrough. I don't really approve of her promiscuity but I don't think Merrill is attractive at all. Sorry if that sounds shallow. Looks aren't everything but it's a factor I can't ignore.

This is always going to be down to individual player opinion, and since it will be their game and their playthrough it will be up to that player who their character will attempt to romance (if anyone).

What do others really care how another person views Merrill (she certainly doesn't, she's fictional)?
