Some people are going to think Merrill looks like a twelve-year-old, some are going to think Isabela is nothing but boobs.
It's a matter of perspective. And opinion. Is there really a point in arguing over it? /:
You say that like its a bad thing :innocent:

I honestly don't get why some people are trying so hard to convince others that Merrill is either
a - does look 12yr old or
b doesn't look 12yrs old.
This is always going to be down to individual player opinion, and since it will be their game and their playthrough it will be up to that player who their character will attempt to romance (if anyone).
What do others really care how another person views Merrill (she certainly doesn't, she's fictional)?
It's a stupid friggin idea, but the point is this: it doesn't friggin matter, she is NOT 12. It's that simple. Whether she looks 12 to someone and 22 to another is really inconsequential. People don't come out the assembly line, they look differently.

I think I'm mostly bothered by the way that people are displaying this fact. "I'm not a pedophile" "I don't bang 12 year olds".Marionetten wrote...
It's just that some of us don't find Merrill's childlike appearance to be particularly attractive.
I've worked with 5th and 6th graders and I have never found them attractive. On the flipside I find Merrill's character model to be an attractive rendering of a woman. Funny how that works.
It's the way that people are saying that they don't like Merril. They aren't saying "She looks way too young for me to feel comfortable" and that would be fine with most people I imagine.

I think a lot of you are missing the point here. Merrill looks young. Nobody is saying she is young. There are plenty of porn stars who look like little kids and gets jobs specifically for that so there's obviously a market for it. It's just that some of us don't find Merrill's childlike appearance to be particularly attractive.
If you play Mass effect, you would also noticed how Liara - a romance option - is young, and she mentions that she's just barely an adult.

Merrill could have a baby-face. That doesn't mean she's a child.

As for the question -- Merril, Isabella seems like she's trying a bit too hard....Heck, with multiple playthroughs it's possible to romance both.

tell him he looked 12 and he'ld murder you.
George "Baby Face" Nelson (Lester Joseph Gillis)
December 6, 1908 - November 27, 1934 (26 years old)
The most violent member of the Dillinger gang, Nelson was credited with killing several men, including three D.O.I. special agents. He may even have been a gunman for the Chicago Syndicate. Nelson was shot 17 times during a gun battle with special agents in Barrington, Illinois. He died several hours later at a house in Niles Center, now called Skokie, Illinois.
Or at the ages of 25 and 23, the Infamous Bonnie and Clyde http://en.wikipedia....nnieclyde_f.jpg hell the actors in the film look MUCH older than they really did, gee...

Real people and characters in video games aren't the same. I know women that are 38 but look 25. Stop trying to excuse yourselves. Merrill LOOKS young and since she is a fictional character NOT A REAL person her looks will determine her age.
Japanese game. Your argument is rendered invalid.

I find the hate of Japanese games on here to be hillarious if not for the Japanese Gaming would be in the realm of table top arcade stands in smelly bars, or Mac users. Say what you will but it can NOT be dissputed that Nintendo and Sony got the ball rolling where others failed.PhrosniteAgainROFL wrote...

You gave a terrible example before. Final Fantasy games? Please. Games filled with underdressed women claiming to be men.
Nintendo has nothing to do with that. Japan has made many classics but they are notorious with their "japanese school girl" thing and whatnot.

Baby Mario. He's a damn baby with a mustahce, or how about Snake, who was at best 30 then by MGS4 given the foxdie aged to an 80 year old man.

And no point in mentioning Jrpgs in a western rpg forum. The culture is so different it will end up being a flame war and it will get us no where. And I believe Cloud is hotter than make Hawke. So what?

It's a pity that Isabela was in DA:O, to be honest, because I think she'd be served better with a more exotic accent.
