oh man. idk this is really difficult. i think my hawke would be a faster fighter than my warden
but i feel like hawke would be too much of a goofball and get distracted allowing for my warden to win.
Hawke vs. Warden: who would win and why?

I never had a problem with DAO's controls on console honestly.
Neither have I.
But DA2's combat system was designed to improve console combat. It was merely a joke on the two different combat systems.

I think they'd just end up sharing a drink and sharing all their adventures with each other in some tavern. Then start a bar fight, of course. Therefore, they both win!

My Hawke would beat my Warden simply because I'm a console gamer so the combat system of DA2 works better on the xbox 360 than it does in Origins. lol.
Basically lol. As much as I'd prefer it the other way around because I'm overly attatched to my Warden-Commander.

The Warden, easily.
Hawke strikes me more as more a regular guy (or gal) thrust into extraordinary circumstances. Sure, Hawke might be an able swordsman or mage depending on player choices, but I don't think Hawke is one of the most powerful people who have ever lived in Thedas.
The Warden is.
Can Hawke boast of one opponent as fearsome or as impressive as an archdemon? Nope!

Hawke is a vain dumbarse who wears armour only on one side to look "cool", smears blood on his nose, and watches too many kung fu movies. Who the hell backflips over a spear thrown at head height instead of moving to the side or ducking? Hawke also does not know how to block, while the Warden might do it once a month
So. Kinda obvious. Warden pulls off a DAO finisher while Hawke is pulling one of his many poses.

Warden: has 3 specs,is at level 35 but is slow as a truck
Hawke: has 2 specs and is level 25 but moves like the wind
So tie?

My human-hating city elf would kick everyone's ass without breaking a sweat (Berserker, Reaver, Spirit Warrior, 2-hander warrior), be it Hawkes or Wardens. And he'd look badass doing it in his Sentinel Armor (come on, who doesn't look badass in that?). ![]()
He'd go into berserk mode and charge straight towards Hawke (let's say Force Mage, Spirit Healer Hawke) while Hawke is trying to trap him in a Glyph of Paralysis. The Glyph would just slow him down before he sliced Hawke in half. Bye-bye Hawke. ![]()
Vs. S&S warrior Hawke? He'd fake a swing low before bashing Hawke's face in with the pommel of his Starfang greatsword. Then he'd follow up by chopping down into Hawke's gut. ![]()
Dual-wield Hawke? Too easy. As soon as Hawke goes for a backstab, he'd swing in a wide arch around himself and chop Hawke in half. ![]()
Archer Hawke? It won't even be fair. The arrows won't do anything to his armor, so it'll be like trying to stab through an inch think wooden board with a toothpick. It won't work. ![]()
2-hander warrior Hawke? It would be interesting, but Hawke would still lose. ![]()
My city elf is pretty much unstoppable. ![]()

I think the both are on par. Origins had sweet kill cam, 2 had crazy DMC moves. Imagine that fight; half slow-mo, half anime flips. YEAHHHH.

Hawke; moves much faster, and if needed, can wait 30 yrs between next Chapter when the Warden should be dead of the taint.... ![]()

i don't know, being a greywarden gives you some perks on fighting darkspawn and killing archdemon permanently, but a warden is just a warrior without a blight. Hawke can kill dawkspawn too even without sensing them. Therefor they are both dual wiled daggers on my playthrough so i must say they are equal for me.

Huh? when did that happen?
Clan? Both Merrill and the Dalish Warden come from the same clan. Depending on your choice in Act 3, you can end up killing the whole clan.
Did Hawke rescue Flemeth? Well, Flemeth said: "Know only that you may have saved my life, just as I once saved yours." I'm guessing he might have saved her from the Warden.
Who had romantic feelings for the Warden when he was young? Merrill, of course. You can kill her at the very end of the game.

My Warden would have no need to fight Hawke, but if I have to go by experience my Warden would win. He's fought more darkspawn, Veteran knights , fade creatures, killed an Archdemon, led the defense of Vigil's Keep, took down an intelligent brood mother, and so on. Hawke fought some darkspawn, some slavers, crazy mages, some demons, and a red lyrium addict. Overall, I don't think Hawke has had the true combat experience or tactical know how to beat my Warden.

warden kills humans because he is a male city elf who almost mimics Velanna in origins, all his choices are pointing to the maxium carnage against humans. The only humans he is kind to are mages because he sees them as equals in the "being harassed by" aspect (just change "humans" for "templars", oh by the way, he also hates chantry too much that he defiled the urn and helped Anders to kill templars)... Hawke is a useless warrior who has less choices than Lelianna and all (s)he does is to comfort and rape Merill, plus Hawke find out a bastardized emo version of the "all right, freedom" Anders WITHOUT Ser Pounce a lot. Maybe other graywardens didn't like elves going crazy and killing everyhuman and sent both Velanna and Warden Commander out but kept Anders and made him... ah yes it was Hawke the one we were talking about, sorry he is just useless, boring and has no skills in neither leadership or protecting his/her family...
I guess the elven warden kills another human in this one

I can't help but take issue with the idea that Hawke is useless for what happens to the first sibling and Leandra. The sibling was careless, and Leandra is an adult who should be able to look out for herself. Short of locking a loved one in your house indefinitely, sh*t can happen no matter how hard you try to look after them. That's like if I said that the Cousland Warden was useless for being unable to drag his/her mother and father out if Highever.
Cousland was able to at least AVENGE her entire family, harden Alistair and became Queen of Ferelden. Plus she hunt down and killed Morrigan because she thought that Darkspawn become sapient due the child she had with Alistair... Hawke... just try to be in Hawke's shoes:
you are a twin of your also warrior brother and live with 2 apostates, why the **** will you go to serve the chantry all the game? why Hawke had not the guts to say no to them and side with the qunari people to drive away the chantry from Kirkwall? I have played all origins, but Hawke is so pathetic that i can't either remember his/her gender, just the fact (s)he was a warrior and had sex with Merrill... all what (s)he achieved.
Heck even Oghren achieved more, he BREED, hawke, instead had 7 years of sex with Merill and that's all. In the end (s)he escapes with her and so his/her "adventures" ended. Hawke serves no purpose: can't save the mages because blood magic autotriggers abominations in Kirkwall (oh wait, even non mages became abominations here), can't either be a good cupid letting pathetic Aveline to butch her own romance, can't even say **** OFF I'M GOING without being tossed again into the battlefield, all (s)he did was forgiving an imposter who calls himself Anders, nuff said.
I will quote the city elf graywarden: "it is just me, or did you think you ever had a chance?" then hawke dies in the hands of an asassin, ranger, deep road scout elf.

Warden. Just because the warden's class set (Depending on the classes vs each other) is OP and in need of a nerfbat.

Hawke can be level 50 to the Warden Commander's 35 but the WC can get 4 specializations to Hawke's 2. The WC can also become invulnerable to both magic and normal attacks while Hawke can't.
I'd say the Warden Commander wins.

I don't really see why they would be fighting. Hawke has heard all sorts of stories about the hero of Fereldan (mostly dirty stories from Isabela) so I can more imagine a drinking competition than an actual fight which honestly I think could go either way (the warden survived the joining but Hawke probably drinks more often).
But if they really did fight for some reason, based on how battles go for me in both games I think Hawke would win but only because Merrill is on her team. I swear every time I play that bloody game in any difficult fight Merrill always ends up being the only one left standing and chucking Mythal's favours to revive everyone or just finishing the fight by herself (unless Hawke is a blood mage in which case she's fab too).

Outside of game mechanic and class, I do see Warden being the stronger and more experience fighter. i am not saying Hawke is bad. Just Warden is better.
