To be fair they could be very equally skilled if they faced each other right after the Warden finished his/her Harrowing before that however Hawke has a high probabilty on defeating the Warden.

What Hawke lacks in my opinion after all that is happened, is experience and the diversity of strong enemies that they both faced. The Warden has faced and defeated more large scaled fights (also commanded armies) as compared to Hawke who only has experienced dealing with things in a single city and vicinity areas. Hawke can be more skillful but the Warden is hardened by battles. So in this aspect, The Warden would definitely win against Hawke post DA:O and DAII

I suppose in canon, all the protagonists are supposed to be equal. But just going on the nature of the action in the two games, the Warden's would fight off maybe about 5 to 10 bandits at a time. Hawke would fit off 1 to 2 dozen in a single outing. Many of the enemies that were considered mini-bosses in DA:O, Hawke's crew would fight 2 to 4 at a time.

The fighting system DA:2 tend to throw more bad guys at you rather than making them more challenging. This resulted in mobs of bad guys who could be dispatched in 1 to 3 hits. This took away from the the tactical aspect of the game to some extent, but it sure did make me feel that my character was a bad ass.

My rogue Hawke has access only to rogue equipment. While my rogue Warden can use any weapons and armor, except mage-only. Nuff said.
