On another note, this reminds me of a conversation I overheard in a bar in Amaranthine:
Drunk 1: Who do you think would win in a fight, Andraste or the Archdemon?
Drunk 2: The Archdemon.
Drunk 1: Ah, but Andraste could call on the Maker!
Drunk 2: But that would be cheating. You're not calling Andraste a dirty cheater, are you?
Drunk 1: Well, she did cheat on her husband.
Best conversation ever.

considering Reina can freeze entire rooms of enemies, heal herself, and summon up giant firestorms. . . I'm betting Warden Reina Amell
And this Reina is a DAO mage I take it? What type of Champion is she fighting? A Hawke Mage could cast first. A Templar Hawke could rape Reina by casting silence and constantly knocking you down as well.

Except, the entirety of the races of Ferelden are also at the beck and call of the Warden...
So yeah, ya died.

even if we look at party members, the ones in origins are much much superior than in DAII. i mean morrigan or wynne could wipe the floor with merril though anders might fare a little better. in terms of rogues well Isabella does have a edge but then lilena and zevran are not far behind (varic i think sucks). sten and fenris would be an even match but aveline would not be able to match Alistair or orgren.

The warden will win hands down. as a Grey Warden he (or she) and enhanced physical abilities that Hawke doesn't. i am not comparing their powers in game but a hypothetical scenario. plus no matter what the origins maybe (except maybe city elf) the warden is a highly trained hardened warrior, hawke on the other hand fled lothering like a little b*tch (sorry for the language but its true). on thop of that, the warden killed the archdemon for crying out loud!

Plus, even though the Warden and Alistair were plucked from the tower... they completely took back the tower from an army of Darkspawn.

Actually, Alistair, while a warden, has the training of a humble templar, while Aveline got the training of one of those chevalairs asloghain, a man above all others once said. Plus she is a front line fighter, and she survived Ostagar, assuming she wasn't with Loghain, that's a nice feat, although the same could be said about Carver and maybe Hawke, depending on the class. That punk Alistair got plucked from a tower, Aveline was on the ground.
might i add that even though aveline was trained by chevalairs, she never was a knight. alistair on the other hand was the son of the Legendary King Maric and as a potential heir was trained so he may stand his ground and protect the bloodline. He also was a grey warden and thus must have been an extremely amazing warrior as the Grand Cleric will not let him go and that Duncan wanted him so bad that he invoked the Right to Conscription. He also had a lot of experience as a grey Warden and porbably had more control over his taint. Duncan prefered him for a reason.

If for nothing else that Morrigan would be underhand and kick Hawke in the nuts before the fight started

Warden>Flemeth>Hawke. Thank about it.
In around 2 years, the Warden (gasp for air)-
stops a civil war
stops a blight
breaks a curse on elves
saves a noble family
regains/exorcizes a fortress
finds and elusive witch
kills a bunch of golems and a harvester, saving some dudes brother
GETS A TEAM OF DIFFERENT VIEWED CHARACTERS AND CAN MAKE THEM ALL LOYAL 100% BY THE END
avenges a loss in the blight (return to Ostagar)
Cleanses a tower filled with abominations
elects a dwarven king
All in 2 years.
It takes hawke TEN to - go on an expedition, deal with a mage/templar war and stop a bunch of Qunari- And I'm pretty sure the Warden views the Qunari as nothing special for a reason
There; Imperical evidence

Yeah and Hawke doesn't randomly miss due to crappy dice rolls, and he doesn't have to always get in one certain position & distance for fighting.Dridengx wrote...
People seem to be using their old 'stats' vs none for Hawke since they have not created him, being not far. They seemed to have failed to consider Hawke attacks much quicker being from DA2 with the new combat system lol as well as having new skills. Hawke can kill the Grey Warden because not only is he faster but he has upgradable skills and spells.
I can't see how people think the Origins fighting system is better really...
