I think they shrug it off because they don't get to know Anora, and there's not as much time to know her as Alistair or the others. I saw her as a good person. I think Anora and Alistair do a lot of good together as King and Queen, and Loghain does live up to his potential as a Grey Warden.

And you have just described my Canon Ending. Best one, IMO, all things considered.:)

That does sound awful...

I suppose it's a good thing that even my HN Warden feels that her need for vengeance was satisfied by killing Howe. Anora's presence does seem to be a factor that not many consider.

Beyond that, some enjoy that she is there. Or shrug her off by saying "Well, she could have stepped back or left." I kid you not.

Actually, that I have seen. A shade disturbing; it seems that some take political opposition very seriously.

Mine, too. :)

Queen Anora is also the ruler who can get a number of boons properly recognized without mods because the developers never bothered to correct the bad flags with King Aistair, including the Magi boon!

First, Anora is a wonderful person.  More people should get to know her.  Posted Image

Second, how could you people subject her to yet another political marriage to an idiot?  That's cruel.  Posted Image

It's equally cruel to Alistair--not that I think he's an idiot at all. He picks up on things like Flemeth's ulterior motives right away, maybe before the warden, and enjoyed his education. That's not something that can usually be said of people who struggle to learn. In any case, he's a man who wants nothing more than to be loved for who he is, and he won't get that from Anora. I'd never marry him to someone who thinks so little of him and holds him in distain. And when hardened, he rules very well without her.

In all fairness, TJPags, King Alistair is the one who places the Elder of the Alienage at the royal court, while Queen Anora has ambitions to build a university and refill the royal coffers. They make a good team because they have good goals separately, and can accomplish their goals together. It might not be what's best for them, but their marriage seems to be what's best for Ferelden from how well they are received by the people. At least, IMHO.

Anora is a brilliant lady and not quite as heartless as some people believe, IMO.

I wouldn't call Alistair an idiot though. He is not the smartest bulb on the chandelier, but he has potential. As for him recognizing Flemeth's ulterior motives first, I think that's just a side effect of him hating Morrigan, not superior intelligence.

Shrug...never saw a reason to kill him myself, and I never cared that much of Anora's feelings or whatever Loghain did for Fereldan in the past that might justify him. I saw him a tool to be used for the Grey Wardens and I took him as such, with respect to his military skills which I felt the Wardens would need more then some whimpering bastard of a noble.

You are awesome (I did it for the exact same reasons)

For my 1st play-through (which is always good/male/fighter, 1st time so no meta-gaming) I spared Loghain.
My character felt the Riordan made compelling reasons and that: yes he could die in the joining to no great loss, and we really did need to increase the Warden numbers and it's stated numerous times in the game that wardens take them where they can get them...

Alistair obviously didn't like it and wasn't hardened so he's now drunk in the free-marshes. (hated that happening)
