I too had my doubts about the Vanguard, but after I had a playthrough with a Solider, Adept, and Infiltrator I gave it a try and LOVED it! Charge is friggen awesome! + Geth Plasma Shotgun = WIN. I kind of wish the Sentinel (my current playthrough) had more abilities to cross the battlefield but the tech shield is nice, and lets you just run and gun.
Recommend a class, please?

The Vanguard is a fun class to play if you've just finished an Adept, Soldier Sniper, or generally any more cautiously played class build. Vanguard really FORCES the action on you, and mostly rewards it.
After playing Vanguard when playing another class I find myself often pressing the "Y" button at the beginning of a wave hoping to charge right in and put a shotgun to someones face, only to realize I've just sent a Singularity at them instead.
However, I dont particularly recommend Vanguard for anyones first playthrough, as I think other classes are better to explore the guns, and powers and learn the enemies and tactical strong points on the battlefield so they can enhance your play as a Vanguard later.
I think Soldier, Adept, and Sentinel are the best beginners classes.

Well, I'm hoping tonight, everyone that normally texts me, calls, doesn't bug me, cause I will be starting my first play through, and I'm going to start as a Infiltrator...I don't know why I'm so attracted to Sniper Rifles and SMG's...it definitely has something to do with me having played Borderlands on 360 first.

Woot! Infiltrator! Nothing's better than making a Sniper Rifle that overheats with 1 shot.

I played as a soldier on my first play throughs but on insanity i played as sentinel, at first they are a pretty weak class but once you have upgraded a few powers i breezed through the game as the tech armour cooled down super quick and gave me shields of steel =) Combine that with both biotic and tech powers you can easily take out most enemies defences easily.

If you like any build suggestions for the Infiltrator and squadmates, I'd be happy to provide some options you can consider.

in ME1 pick Soldier and skill 1 or 2 weapons. not more.
in ME2 pick Infilrtator
I personaly had most fun playing Engineer even tho I am "sneak+sniper" type of player.

That would be great...I was thinking of definitely taking any skill that helps deal with mechs and incendiary for anything remotely organic...

You can build your Shep's Talents like this for one playthough so you can go into ME2 once you complete ME1. It is capped at level 50 for your very first playthrough:
(Talent Points - Talent, skill)
05 - Pistols
12 - Sniper Rifles
07 - Tactical Armor
12 - Fitness
09 - Electronics
12 - Damping
09 - Decryption
02 - First Aid
12 - Infiltrator | I'd recommend Commando
08 - Charm/Intimidate
04 - Spectre Training
The ME1 Infiltrator has a lot of flexibility with the Squad, so you can go with any mix you like. Here are some suggestions capped at level 50:
Kaidan
12 Throw
12 Lift
12 Barrier
00 Stasis
09 Decryption

For ME2, the Infiltrator works well with this setup:
(Points - Power)
03 - Disruptor
10 - Squad Cryo
10 - Enhanced Cloak
10 - Incineration Blast
06 - AI Hacking
10 - Agent
Invest in the class Passive first, then Cloak and Incinerate. The ammo powers are not as important to level as those first three are, and AI Hacking would be last to be leveled up.
For the ME2 squad here are some suggestions:
Miranda - level her class passive first with Overload being the last to fully upgrade
10 - Area Overload
10 - Unstable Warp
10 - Leader
01 - Slam
Jacob - I recommend leveling Squad Incendiary first, passive second.
01 - Pull
10 - Squad Incendiary
10 - Specialist
10 - Heavy Barrier
Zaeed
10 - Concussive Blast
00 - Disruptor
10 - Warlord
10 - Inferno Blast
Mordin
10 - Incineration Blast
00 - Cryo Blast
10 - Savant
10 - Neural Shockwave
Garrus - he would need to be respec'd from LotSB to move points from his BP for Concussive Blast
06 - Concussive Shot
10 - Area Overload
10 - Renegade
03 - Armor-Piercing Ammo
Jack - she would need to be respec'd from LotSB to move points from her BP for Improved Shockwave
06 - Shockwave
10 - Pull Field
10 - Adept
03 - Warp Ammo
Grunt
10 - Concussive Blast
00 - Ammo power
10 - Pureblood
10 - Heavy Fortification
Tali
10 - Explosive Drone
10 - Area Hacking
00 - no points for passive
10 - Area Energy Drain
Thane - he would need to be respec'd from LotSB to move points from his BP for Throw Field
06 - Throw
10 - Unstable Warp
10 - Marksman
03 - ammo power
Samara - as an Infiltrator, this setup makes Samara very powerful after her Loyalty mission
03 - Throw
06 - Pull
10 - Sapiens
10 - Area Reave
Kasumi - Her powers are awesome and her passive can be ignored as a result
10 - Rapid SS
10 - Area Overload
00 - no points for passive
10 - Improved Flashbang
Legion - once he has the Widow and GSB research upgrades, he is a force to be reckoned with, so the passive seems unnecessary
10 - Area Hacking
10 - Explosive Drone
00 - no points in the passive
10 - Improved GSB
Liara - she has like 29 points anyway so investing in her passive is unnecessary
10 - Heavy Singularity
06 - Warp
00 - no points in passive
10 - Deep Stasis
(Points - Power)
03 - Disruptor
10 - Squad Cryo
10 - Enhanced Cloak
10 - Incineration Blast

@Praetor Shepard Thanks for the builds, I also started a Soldier last night, and I must say even on Casual, having all those guns put a smile on my face although all I've used so far is the AR but, it's cool.
