I honestly think Merril looked better in DAO from what I've seen so far, but that's just my opinion. It is interesting though that she will be in DA2. I might be one of the few but I did not see that one coming at all.

Just a note, if Merrill  comes off as  "mysterious" to you, then these snippets  you've watched have given you the wrong impression.  She wasn't written to be mysterious.  She was written to be the complete opposite of that, aka.   "Girl next door", which, for as long as I've been alive, has always meant "familiarity"

I haven't actually watched anything, at all. I avoid ANY spoilers like the plague. Fact is, just being an elf makes her mysterious. Top and bottom of it is, Isabella's still just a cheap tart anyway, I doubt she'd ever actually have a place in my party. Seb Vael or Varric will always be my Rogue I think.

But yeah, I like pale, I like some depth, I like Merrill. End of.

That said - DA2 elves are generally uglier, but some (like Merril) are super-cute.
