I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place or whether I should actually be posting it in the thread specifically for BDtS, but I have the Steam version of ME1 and just downloaded the DLC. I have the key, it all seems to be working fine when I try to install it, but while it's trying to validate the license file a message pops up that says:
The game cannot start: There seems to be a problem contacting the license server. Ensure your internet connection is active and try again in a few minutes.
I can't tell whether it's the fact that I'm on Vista or the fact that my game was bought from Steam, or even the fact that I live on a university campus that uses a proxy for the internet. Though judging by the nature of the message itself, it might be the proxy preventing me from installing it. (Although that would be strange since I bought ME1 on campus and installed it and played it just fine...)
Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks in advance!

That does sound like a proxy issue. That ME1 itself was fine doesn't necessarily tell you much if it was the Steam version. The non-Steam DRM was removed from the Steam version - but, as you now see, that doesn't change things for the DLCs.
Unfortunately, that's about all I can tell you. But I would imagine that the proxy is the thing to look at.

Okay, thanks for the speedy reply! I guess I'll just have to try to install it off-campus. Either grab my laptop and go downtown or wait 'til summer break. I don't have a better solution to this. Once again, thanks!
