Or, whatever I feel like doing. I have every confidence that I can build characters that can fill multiple roles adequately, so I won't be going with Aveline to always tank and Anders to always heal, etc. On Nightmare though... lol... that won't give me nearly as much freedom. I'll do it, but I am not really looking forward to it.

I think my first Hawke playthrough will be Rogue. So far I am thinking Anders, Merrill and Aveline.

I will have Bethany in Merrills place for awhile though, if it ever ends up that Bethany isn't a permanent companion then that is when Merrill will fill that spot.

Probably Aveline to tank, Anders to heal, and any rogue for DPS and to open locks, depending on which one I like the best. Most likely it'll be Sebastian or Varric. Isabella is annoying. But I'll also try and switch it up a bit from time to time to experience all the characters...even Isabella

I'd prefer to enjoy both elves on my third or later playthroughs but if need be they'll replace either sibling when they get taken away.

Anders, Isabela, Varric. Probably will change, I don't wanna have the game set up in my mind before I even play it, it'll depend on who I like most, don't care too much about efficiency.

I want Merrill in my party, but I also want to be a mage. This sucks, because neither of us will be healing. I'll have to go without a rogue or a warrior to bring Anders, which isn't the best idea.

Sigh. I really should be a rogue or warrior, but then I'd want to take Bethany along as well, so I'd have the same problem.

Can anyone confirm if picking locks and disarming traps award exp like in Origins? I like the rogues we got here but the group I'm planning on for my first playthrough doesn't leave much room for them for the most part.

"B" team: Avaline, Bethany, Sebastian
"C" team: Fenris, Isabela, Merrill

At least that's the plan. Obviously I'll mix them up if I feel I need to.

Bethany - Mage Primal/Healer
Aveline - Tank Shord and Shield/Defender - will primarily do rally to help with benefiting the rest of the group

Fourth to switch between - Sebastion/Varric or maybe Isabella

First playthrough will be an archer, so let's forget Varric or Sebastian for this one.

Probably I'll go for Fenris, Anders and Isabella. If she's like Zevran, I bet we'll have lots of nice banters to hear ^^

i was going to play a male rogue and have merrill, isabela, and aveline in my party...weird.haha

Heh, I was just thinking about this last night. I think my "standard" will be me, Bethany, Merrill, and Isabela. But, Isabela can be switched out for Sebastian or Varric for variety, and Bethany can be switched out for anyone else. Merrill will stay with me all the time for the smecks.
