I think that Bioware should think about adding Hawke (or the next protaganist for that matter) to the party banter. They gave Hawke a voice so they expect me to believe that my companions will only talk randomly amongst each other and only include Hawke when they want something. It happened so rarely in DA:O. and it was always a full blown conversation. I just think it would add to the realism and connection I am supposed to feel for Hawke and my companions.

What do you think?

I think they have done that with DA2. I think he'll respond differently based on your dialog choices. If I remember correctly that is.

Well from the one conversation I've heard, Aveline looks set out to become the next Wynne. Nothing to do with anything, but still.

I don't want Hawke to participate in conversations because, what if my Hawke says something out of character for him/her? I'd hate that. Unless it's like a running joke with the companions.

Yeah, I believe they said Hawke will throw in a quip from time to time based on his dominant personality.

Hawke will participate in party banter. (Not as often as the other members, though,)

Jah. IIRC, it was said that the game will track your dialogue choices and use your habits to determine when/if/how Hawke joins the banter.

I watched the live feeds and I remember Laidlaw talking about how Hawke would respond based on the dialog choices you make, I was just under the impression that it would change how Hawke would respond not the party banter, but that does make sense.

I think there'll be a decent amount of party banter, given the new underwear models however I'm more concerned about the level of panty barter.

Another party banter related question. Will there be spots on the map that trigger party banter? Like for instance the bridge in Orzammar in DA:O.

Does that mean it's back? I liked that about DA O. Morrigan's nose, my Warden's hips, Shales remarks on human relations...

Laidlaw said there would be more banter, and progression depending on the time frame of the game we are in.

Nuff said

<3 I loved random banter with Shep + party mates. So if this is true, I'm even more excited. :wizard:

How am I supposed to construct a coherent personality for Hawke if he speaks or acts without my explicit direction?

Who had this topic as "The next thing that Sylvius will take offense to as ruining his game" in the pool? Anyone?

You had no control over banter in Origins, you will have no control in DA2. Like the Devs said however, your banter lines are determined by your dominant personality, which is based on your conversation choices.
Have a little faith.

And here I thought this would be too much work for BW. I'm impressed.

(Edit: Or I will be, if this turns out to work properly. I might be impressed, but I'm also a skeptic at heart.)
