I've been getting ready to start my carryover playthrough, and after a lot of thought, have decided to play as a Sentinel on insanity.  I chose sentinel because I can use it to play an aggressive, run-and-gun style while using powers, which is something that appeals to me greatly and I found lacking on the vanguard, despite how awesome charge is.

My planned build is as follows:
Heavy Throw-10
Assault Armor-10
Area Overload-10
Raider-10
Heavy Warp Ammo-10
Cryo Blast-1

Advanced Weapons Training: Shotgun

Just wanted to share and get some feedback on whether this build is viable for the aggressive, run-and-gun/cast powers playstyle I plan to employ.  Thanks in advance.

For all you know, your class or build may not even carry over.

I wasn't asking if it was a good carryover build, I was asking if it's a good build for a sentinel on insanity who likes to play aggressively. But I can see how the title would be misleading now. My bad. I'll change it.

It depends on exactly how aggressive your run-and-gun playstyle is going to be. If it is very aggressive then you won't be able to use your powers that often (because you need to cast Tech-Armor quite often). As you took the Raider path instead of Guardian you also have a longer cooldown. Personally I also don't like Cryo Blast very much. It can be fun but usually when they are down to Health only I just throw the enemies or kill them with my weapons. I also don't like the short delay between hitting and finally freeze the enemy.

So a Sentinel like yours can be fun but personally I tend to play a very aggressive game with my Sentinels and use Tech-Armor effectively as a weapon (I try to run into the "middle" of enemies and get surrounded to maximize the power of the blast). Other skills are only mixed in between every now and then (usually Warp against barriers and Throws if the situation allows it). I also use Tungsten Ammo because the SMG and the GPS are already pretty good against barriers (and shields) so I'll take the 20% extra damage of Tungsten Ammo over Warp Ammo. Also I like how the yellow Tungsten rounds fit the style of the yellow Tech-Armor. My Sentinels usually end up like this: Heavy Throw (10), Heavy Warp (10), Assault Armor (10), Overload (1), Cryo Blast (0), Guardian (10), Tungsten Ammo (10). Constantly switching between Tempest and GPS and occasionally using the Phalanx.

That build is not possible. You only get 51 talent points and your build would need 61.

Oh, I was referring to the build in the first post. Should have quoted it. Will edit to avoid further confusion.

Oh, and I was thinking you were the one who wrote the first post because I just saw the avatar and didn't check the name. Also the reply came right after mine. So I guess I'm the one who needs to do some more checking

Holy crap, you're right.  How did I miss that?  I am a ******, lol.  Alright then, scratch either Cryo Blast or Throw, most likely Cryo Blast.

Korjyan, your build sounds good, but I prefer warp ammo for the versatility.  Plus I like the idea of channeling biotics to power up my weapons.

Well, after playing around a bit, I discovered you're right, so I think I'll slightly adjust the style.  Switch between running-and-gunning and hanging back and using powers depending on the situation, but still keep an aggressive mindset either way.

What I really like about that is that it still fits my original goal for the playstyle of mixing running and gunning with power casting.
