To those of you wondering if this review is legit here is a statement via the GI staff...

Joe Juba states "Reviews hit on Tuesday for console and PC versions. You'll get my full report, good and bad, then!". He also adds "To be fair, most games' reviews go up on release day, even if it's a great game. Recent examples are Fight Night, Radiant Historia, and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. It's rarer that we get to post reviews early." (pg. 9, comments in "10 things you need to know about DA2")

By that I for one have determined this supposed review to be fake... to all their own tho.

it could have been leaked?

Maybe it was a postman???????????

If the review is fake, or is for the version that got an 8 last time, or if it's a different reviewer this time ,then I concede. But if it's the same reviewer on the same platform, then Priestly's statements do not apply in this case.

I'm just going to go ahead and requote this for posterity.

That's pretty much a confirmation that the console and PC versions are reviewed seperately.

And if the gamefaqs thread is to be believed, it would seem that the PC version would be getting a better score.

"Not everyone likes this kind of game" isn't an argument that works in this situation, because Game Informer gave the first game a 9.0. That means that they think this game is worse than the last game.

Its my opinion too.. and probably others.

I think Chris meant that the reviews are only opinions. It is best to use them as guidelines, not follow them like some sort of sacred text. One person, one opinion, may not be the same as yours ;)

just finished the demo and it wasnt as bad as i wanted it to be so i'll probs get it. but it'll never be great to me coz of the race choice being left out (always play as elves in any game) 8 rating isnt bad really, i mean a lot of people were heartbroken that they couldn't play as a dwarf of elf.

He was probably refering to the online posting of the review.

It proves nothing, in any case. You can't put an exact date on a magazine release. A lot of subscribers get magazines before everyone else.

Then why isn't there extra information? Usually when people get ahold of leaked copies, they don't hesitate to spill every last drop of information.

Even if this score is confirmed you don't know for which version of the game was the review made.

The gamefaqs poster said the review was constantly comparing the game to the PC version.

So if it is true, the score is for the console version.

The review is most likely not authentic.

It's not like leakers are all clones who will do the exact same thing in a given situation, or maybe all that was leaked was the score. Like if someone said, "Hey buddy of mine who works at Game Informer, can you tell me anything about your next issue?" *offers alcoholic beverage*

We will be collecting teh reviews as they come in on the website. You can also check out sites like Metacritic  if you'd like.

Metacritic is a cause, not the cure, for the ridiculous rating system that is in place for video games.

The only "curse" is that people regard the numbers there like some sort of holy text instead of forming their own opinion
