I'm sure people will try to use the fact that it's not 9 or higher as proof that it sucks - even though 8.25 indicates that it's probably a pretty good game. Oh joy, I can't wait for the deluge of rage, angst, smug self-satisfaction and elitism that's probably about to flood this thread.

Actually DAO got a 9.00 from GI (for PC):

However, I suspect that DAII will recieve lower reviews for the recycled areas... but I don't mind recycled areas if they mean I get to play sequels faster. I just want to know what happens next

Well, I don't have mine yet because I haven't being able to play the game beyond the demo but once I do, I'll have my own opinion which will be the only one which will matter to me.

GI is off sometimes. I remember they gave FF13 a 9 or 9.25 or something like that and it didn't deserve anything more than a 2.

Do you know which version? As I recall, they rated DAO's versions separately.

Okay, typically I wouldn't comment in a thread like this. But GI is just utter trash when it comes to game reviews.

If someone can tell you that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a better game than Shadow of the Colossus, they are either a liar or an arse face.

Online reviews are crap and worth nothing.
Most of the time, they simply praise mass-market and large budget games, and look down on others. Sometime it's deserved, often it's not. Even when they praise a game, they often miss the points that actually make it great.

Just ignore them and make up your own mind.

And I'm sure just as many people will say that GI clearly doesn't know how to rate games.
