Im DLing at as I type this. I did DAO --> Awakening ---> Golem xpac, but then got busy in life and forgot to check for more and it turns out Witch Hunt came out.
Just how important is it that I complete this? And can I do in it 28hrs before DA2 unlocks?

It's really short. You can do it in an hour. I have no idea if it's important, though.

Its pretty short in contrast to the game. Its no Awakening. I finished it and half of awakening in an afternoon, so you should be able to. There's a bit of foreshadowing for the future of the world in it, and closes Morrigan's involvement with the Warden. I'd definitely say go for it if you have the time.

If you romanced morrigan and did the ritual then it can be pretty damn important
But if your like me and did not romance morrigan than its just another DLC with some interesting information imo.
