Thought about it but decided not to. I don't accrue PTO so fast that I can afford to take a day off for a game if I want to take a vacation this year. I don't have to be into work until 3 anyway.

I worked this weekend to clear out a sudden project that appeared for me on Friday late afternoon and I'll be working probably 16 hours tomorrow to clear out another that came in on midday Friday. With those done, I should be able to take Tuesday and Wednesday off just to play.

This shows both the plusses and minuses of being a freelancer.

I don't have the option of not taking Tuesday off. It's national holyday! Never though Carnival would do something good for me!

No sir, I will not be taking the day off. I have class till 2. But I may end up skipping my Terrorism class. We aren't doing anything in it on Tuesday anyways.

What idiotic things do you take time off for?  Everyone has different hobbies and different things they feel are important enough to take a day off for.

I was planning on catching a sudden bout of the flu on Tuesday, but a meeting was scheduled that I can't miss. A co-worker agreed to take the second half of my shift, though. Would have been nice to use my paid sicktime since I never normally get ill enough to use it, but ah well.

You forgot to mention because sometimes you just can't be arsed going to work.
I do find it amusing how serious people get over it though, like taking a day off for something is the most horrible thing you could ever do.

If it was last semester I might consider cutting my second class, because there was no attendance policy and it was ridiculously easy though.

Agreed, I'm not taking the day off but I'd never try and tell anyone else to do so or not to do so.

I can't miss their Tuesday classes.

Don't have the sort of job that will allow it. The game should be delivered (by Amazon) by the time I get back from work, though, so I'll set it to install before I go hang with friends. (Non-gamer friends have exciting plans; I'm not going to say no.) I probably won't start playing until Wednesday, and even then, I won't be able to really *commit* until Friday night/Saturday.

Still, the laundry, shopping, and tidying up is taken care of. I'm ready for a week of not doing much beyond sleeping, eating, and going to work. Bring on DA2!
