Rather than spamming story info all across the board, I'll just put the link to my community creations post here.
http://social.biowar...7/index/6385275

The story has 54 illustrations made with the toolset, two per chapter. I haven't posted them seperately as they're a bit spoilery in some cases, so I'm afraid that if you want to see them, you'll have to go to the chapters.

(Oh, and there's a link to the story in my signature now ;) )

So what's the best way to view and read the story? Just go to live journal link you provided and click on each chapter one at a time?

You can get to each chapter from the index, but there are links to previous and next chapters at the end of each chapter, so you wouldn't have to go back to the index each time. That would be a huge pain in the butt, and I couldn't have that! :)

It's a bit onerous for the people who just want to see the pictures, I know, but I couldn't figure out a way to make the pictures available otherwise, not in a way that wouldn't lead to others being spoiled on my plot.

The link in the original post goes to the community creations post where there's a brief synopsis, etc. If you want to go straight to the story, use the link in my signature. There's story info there, as well.

Of course, I'm hoping that people who go just for the pictures might give the story a try. ;) Took most of a year to write and illustrate it. Ack! And it's part one of two!

Tell you what, I'll put a couple of pics that don't reveal plot up so that people can see if they're something they find interesting.

I'm in awe. Seriously. It's a good story--and I'm sitting here going "ARGH! WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!"--but the illustrations kind of blew me away. How did you do that?

Thanks guys! That makes all the hard work worth it!

I did them in the toolset. A lot of the time I had to rerender levels with different lighting for the area then add lights for specific effects I was looking for, or create new locations entirely. (oops, that reminds me, I used a level that someone else made and forgot to credit it--I'll have to fix that right away.) In some cases, I was able to use basic animations, but a lot of the time I had to combine and layer them. Each picture took around 3 to 8 hours to make, with three being the rarity. Most took five or six, including costuming and creature creation.

And it makes me very happy to hear that there's 'ARGH! WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!' going on!

Like me. I am not interested in written fan-fic. That´s what I thought when I went for the pictures (great, remarkable lighting). Started to read and got caught completely. I could not stop reading until I was overwhelmed by early-morning-tiredness. I hope we will not have to wait another year for part 2.Posted Image

My pleasure, and this is just what I like to hear! :) Although I must disappoint you on the timeline, I'm afraid It will likely be at least 7 or 8 months. I do LOTS of rewriting of each chapter and then of the whole thing once it's done. It's just the way I work and helps me avoid mistakes, plotholes, etc. That takes a bit of time.

Of course, it does. Was meant as a motivation not to dawdle. (Grin) Seems to work. (Grin)
