Wait, you cannot change the gear of your companions?

Your companions wear the same armor and use the same weapons during the whole game? You cannot equip them with better armor/weapons? WHY?
Isn't it part of an RPG to find/buy better equipment for the party? Sorry, I cannot understand that. So, finding armor/weapons for you companions was a "bad part" of DA:O and had to get axed as Bioware stated they cut all of the features out of the game that weren't good?
So exploration and visiting diverse and interesting places was bad, too?
What's next? Skills? Walking around?
I'm getting a really bad feeling about DA 2... I doubt that this won't be the RPG I am looking for, or an RPG at all.
And please spare me the "If you doubt that this will be your RPG, don't buy it and go away from this forum" responses. Everyone is entiteld to his opinion and can state it here, even if the blind-Bioware-fans-that-accept-everything-cheeringly won't like it...
I'm getting more and more disappointed...

One reason though is so they can sell you armour DLC just like ME2.

You can change everyone's weapon but Varric.
No, that's not part of an RPG. That's a part of some RPGs. You can still find better upgrades for equipment, such as underpadding and runes, however. But don't let that impede you, chicken little.

"3. Inventory Management Is Better
Your allies in Dragon Age II each have a set of armor that they wear all the time. This means that you can’t equip them with the helmets, boots, and gauntlets that you find in your quest. This may sound disappointing at first, but it results in you spending much less time in the menus sizing up and optimizing equipment. If you pick up a new suit of armor that isn’t an improvement for Hawke, you can just sell it; no need to look at all of your active and inactive party members to see if it’s better for them. Plus, you can still outfit your companions with rings, amulets, and belts, so the customization isn’t gone completely. Your inventory will be less cramped, especially since you get a storage chest early on and you aren’t carrying around crafting reagents all the time. "

did any of the armors in Dao look drastically different? except, Warden Com, Blood Dragon, morrigan or a very select few.
Unique armor that is still customizable via runes etc> generic robe 34 or leather armor 67 IMO

Of course it adds more work for the developers and most of the fans don't mind, so F it.

Close.
Some fans see the value in customized equipment and want to see it in the game.
Some fans see the value in fixed, unique outfits and want to see it in the game.
Those people simply do not understand each other.
There are also some fans who see the value in both, and view this as a tradeoff, and are either optimistic or pessimistic about it, based on any number of factors.

Anyway, this has been talked about for months, have you not bothered to do any research before blindly starting a new topic? And there is still some customisation, just more streamlined

As for chars looking alot alike in Da:o I agree, but this was because Bioware was "lazy" with the amount of armor models, not because they couldn't possibly made them more diffrent.

I remember playing Baldur's Gate or going back a litte more, Ultima 7. Finding or being able to buy new armour (parts) was always great! Matching different kinds of armor together because you couldn't afford the plate mail helmet yet that fit to the armor... And having to ponder about wearing the leather armour or the chain mail for their different bonuses...
This is a huge part of customizing my party. I am disappointed that I will not be able to do that in the sequel of one of the last great RPGs.

I understand you are all in a hissy and I respect that. The only way for you to make a stand is to not buy the game. Stick it to the man! Hit 'em in the wallet! If you do buy the game, then you you are just buying into this Bioware/EA business model that's got you all up in arms. You are actually giving that business model your vote if you still but the game.
