Sorry but i cant read 15 pages of posts.

I have an Nvidia 9600 GT 1 GB, will it lag when i play the game with this installed?

Are there any problems i should know about?

Is 9600 GT is directX10 video card, since you have 1GB of RAM, assuming you are running say Windows 7 (or Vista with Directx11 installed) and the latest video driver (that has support for Directx11) you should be able to run the game with the very high resolution. One thing to keep in mind though 9600 GT is not exactly very powerful so even though you will be able to run the game in Very High Graphics settings you might experience some slowdowns. It will be up to you to decide if you can live with it or not.

I have laptop Dell Precision Mobile workstation with T9550 Core 2 duo, 8GB of ram and nVidia FX3700M video card with 1GB (Directx10) and once I installed the latest driver I was able to run the DA2 demo in Directx11 mode. I'm sure I will be able to run the game in Very High Graphics mode but the question is if the game will be playable. I will know today when I get my copy of DA2 today.

I have 3 GB's of PC Ram and 1 GB of Vram.

I am able to run DA:O on Very High with minor slowdowns but they are so minor that i dont even care about them.

I was just worried, but knowing that ill be able to run this Game and this High-Res mod along with it seems great.

I have Direct X 11 so it will be even greater.

Thanks for the insight :)

So i have downloaded today the installation pack for the high resolution textures from the bioware website.
Whenever i try to install it a message pop up that says "Dragon Age 2 needs to be installed".
I have made the predownloading from steam, doesnt this means that i already have Dragon Age 2 installed?
Or perhaps it is not considered installed until it is activated on the release day?
I'm just wondering, because it would be very disappointing if im not going to be able to use the hi-res textures because of some conflict with steam.

I think it requires activation before steam installs a game.

Alternatively you can just open the texture install with something like 7zip and extract the files manually.

I would wait for your steam to activate first. You can also read the tech support forum to see if other steam user have similar issues. You cannot create new posts there but you can read the threads.

james is right.  I had to launch the game first then exit out and try again.

DA2 on very high is very different than DA:O on very high.
On my laptop (HD5730 w/ i7 720) I was able to run DA:O on very high with 2xAA AxAF @ 1366*768 with no lag. However, I experienced about a 50% performance decrease going from High to Very High in DA2. I'm currently running DA2 on DX11 High with high res texture pack 0xAA 0xAF @ 1366*768 at about 40FPS. Going to very high causes the game to run below 20FPS.

Why those features haven't been included in the realaese version, and dont put DX11 renderers if it isn't, this is a lie.

I'm running GTX 260 in SLI w/ 1.8GB of memory per card. I've downloaded and enabled the high-res textures in video options. GTX 260's aren't DX11-compatible - I've got "High" settings selected - am I actually seeing the benefit of the high-res textures?

I can't seem to install it w/ my Steam copy of DA2... It says that I need to install the game first when I've already played the damn game.

Is there any movement on this from Bioware or Nvidia yet? I am still having issues on my GTX 470.
