I'm a regular visitor and a memeber of giantbomb and they rarely get sent review copies. Jeff usually has to go and buy the games. They didn't get a review copy for RDR and they didn't even review the game.

Great way of  threating your customers they are the reason you even get a paycheck. You should not behave like a 12 year old even its clear a 12 year old wrote the dialogues in Dragon Age 2.

oh and the reason there are no early reviews is because the publisher doesn't allow the reviews to be published prior to release date unless they meet specific criteria, such as using specific screenshots deemed "OK" to post, and a review score of a certain amount.

this is common knowledge on all review sites and have been mentioned many times from publishers, developers, and reviews in many interviews

I was thinking about that but giving a game out in the beggining of the month means we dont see too much "hard copy" reviews as the magazine sends them out at the end end of each month. But that also begs to question about early release for big gaming magazines to review a game before release. Thats how I was convinced to get Red Dead Redemption the week it came out

I can only sympathize with people who haven't pre ordered the game and aren't intimately familiar w/ it. People who actually just want some form of "professional" opinion before they dish out their cash is totally fine but I suspect most people just want their opinions proven or disproved so they can start trolling the boards early.

Gaider, that wasn't my intention at all. I want very much to believe that it was just a mix up. So I ask why a fairly large site was not sent a review copy in advance, even if they gave DA:O 5 stars?

a bad review is considered to be 7 or lower.  I remember when games that were alright were at 7 with minimal words saying whats wrong with them.  Now I read a review at a 8.5 and half the review is negative.  WTH?

Wait, so sarcasm causes people to not buy a game solely because one of the people involved made one remark. Also apparently sarcasm is immature and low then you immediately go to insulting a game you haven't seen much of anything of as an attempt at a one liner.
There's a reason I stay on the forums, it's because I absolutely love idiot logic.

if people are so worried about reviews, chill out. Dont pre order the game. Wait a couple days and get player impressions. If they stink, then ski; the game.
