Whether I start DA2 from shortcut or EADM, it seems to hang, then my antivirus and firewall programs are disabled!!! This isn't a good thing. I wait about 30 secs then I reset the system as it appears to be frozen up and clicking 'Start' button doesn't do anything.
When checking 'Release Date', antivirus/firewall is shut down...

this is happening to me as well, happened to Dead Space 2 last week when i played it and that games been released for a while. It is after 12 AM on the eight, maybe i'll just wait it out, would be nice to get a message failing ERROR: WAIT! WE KNOW ITS THE EIGHT BUT WAIT FOR THE WESTCOASTERS! but it just sits there and makes no progress in the bar. My computers fans all kick on like its making nuclear fission.
Read around a bit, make sure port 443 is open and try a good ole' power cycle. Also, checking your Bios for a correct time, thou i do not get how that would effect an internet time check. I finally got Dead space to work by getting a crack and couldn't play online or access my limited edition content, I'm not so quick to give up features for this game and hope I do not have to.
wondering if anyone else is having this problem, or if i'm just impatient. Using the EADM version if it matters.

Sorry to hear that you're having troubles. You should be getting a popup saying that the game will unlock for you at such and such a time (about an hour or two from now). Can you run the launcher at all? If so, post your config report data so we can see if there are any patterns between users experiencing this. Hopefully the issue will go away in a couple of hours but, if not, we'll see if we can reproduce it internally.
You can generate a configuration report using the following steps:
1. Choose ‘Configure’ from the Launcher
2. Under ‘File’, choose “Save a report of the system information”
Also:
What edition of the game are you playing? (Regular/Signature)
Where did you obtain your copy of the game? (Retail/Steam/Direct to Drive/Social Site)

Ok, starting DA2 will shut down my av/fw. Then anything I try to do afterwards is like the memory is maxed out and it will eventually get around to processing the next action. I managed to get the av/fw started back up. After the Configuration window comes up, I click on Configure and av/fw shuts down again. Again I eventually get av/fw started back up. I got the 'Configure' file saved. I click on 'Play', and av/fw shuts down again. I get the first popup window to allow 'Sony DADC' to proceed, I allow it and the next window pops up saying 8 March, 2011 @ 03:00 am. I would try and record a desktop video of what's happening but I'm pretty sure everything would just lock solid then. I'm running Win7 64 Premium, Dragon Age II SE, and bought/downloaded from EA using EADM. Where do I send the saved configuration file??
Edit: Forgot to mention the Sony DADC window says Austria AG. Is that right??

Ok, I fixed it. I use Sunbelt Software (GFI) Vipre Premium (av/fw). Normally, it will prompt me on what to allow access to my system and/or internet. For whatever reason, and apparently, the Sony DADC (Securom) wasn't allowing Vipre to prompt me, but instead, was shutting Vipre down to get around it (not worded the best of ways, but I don't mean this to you guys in a bad way). Anyhow, I went into Vipre and set the firewall the same as what it was set up for DAO and ME2. Now everything's hunky dory!! Appreciate the response ya'll, but now I'm gonna get me some DA2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just one last question. Since Sony is not removing itself, can I now take it off without effecting DA2???

Rob Bartel,
Thank you for your speedy reply, I have the report saved where should I submit it?
Also, I am using the regular version, that was a direct download from EA Download manager.
the last few hours I have searched the internet for a remedy.
I have found a solution in this crack I found it disables the check and I was able to still connect to my account online and access my content as well as save. kind of funny had to use a tool to steal a game to get a game, I bought to work...
Here is a link to the crack that will get you by the Securom activation.
