Something Wicked glitch help!

I've been playing a rented copy of DA:O all week, working on getting the perfect import (for DA2, which should be delivered to my house tomorrow)
Now I'm stuck in a room in the Elven Orphanage, both doors out are locked and nothing seems to be working. I've tried talking to my companions, and I'm a Spirit Healer so I don't have any area of effect damage spells to use to reset it.

Is there any way to save my game?

EDIT: I saved right after the battle because I was so happy Ser Otto was still alive (I lost him the last time I did this quest) and that seems to have doomed me! I really don't know what to do. If my game is lost I think I might return DA2 since this has left a sour taste in my mouth...
