How are you guys able to play, It says I have like 6 hours left (New York).

Many people tricked the EADM and used a Chinese VPN server *and* set their timezones to China which tricked the EADM into unlocking about 8+hrs early

did u install the 267.24 beta driver? because i still have fps problem at very high in directx11(like10-20) with my gtx 460 :(

Yes, and I still have some issues.. the 400s are the lower line of the Nv DX11 cards, so you would have some perf hits with the settings maxxed out. I would think that SMOOTH max settings would be at the 560-580 card level.. I have two of them and I'm not getting the perf I should be (even with the beta drivers)

yeah, installed the beta, improved a bit, not as glitchy, but certainly NOT smooth, I have gtx470, oc'ed, cpu Q6700 @ 3.3ghz, 8GBram, vista x64, ought to be able to run this thing with no problem.

Is that "Legal"?

The fact that you guys and your $300-400 cards are choking on DAII has me worried for my dinky little 5770. There goes the SSAO option that I toyed with in the demo...

It could be due to optimizations/drivers tho.

I'm able to play Crysis Warhead at 50 FPS stable at Max settings and I mean Everything at MAX with my 2500k and 560 TI and people with 580's cant play this game at max, Does that sound right?

Playing the game in DX11 @ high will be fine enough for me tho, if I get stable frames.

LOL. My 2 cards are almost a $1200 investment, but I know not all games play well with SLI. That's why I even took one card out to see if that was the problem.

Keep in mind, I'm also "trying" to play at 2560x1600 on a 30" monitor, and it's a LOT to ask of a game to run at that rez with every DX11 bells and whistle on. However, the fact that I don't use AA of any kind, I shouldn't have any performance issues on "very high" even at that rez. As it stand, if I want to run "very high" I need BOTH cards in SLI mode and drop my rez to 1920x1200 (which looks like crap on a 2560x1600 lcd).

So... for now I decided to run the game like this:

2560x1600 with SLI
No AA, ASFx16
HIGH SETTING
NO graphic checkboxes checked, except hi rez textures (after it was installed)

With that setting, I'm pulling about 40fps out of combat and 20-25 in combat... with the nv beta drivers... and tbh.. the game should perform a LOT better with those settings. ;)

I can't even run DX10 features without it freezing every once in awhile for some reason. I have the latest NVIDIA beta drivers and the following system, and can only play on DX9, because even though DX10 runs at 20-25 FPS just fine, it keeps on hanging...

Core 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.8 GHz
4 GB RAM
GeForce GTX 260M

There is no DX10 mode for DA2, only DX9/11 and DX11 isnt supported on the 200 series.

I have the exact same card and I am worried as heck about the performance in the higher settings.

And I guess that activating SSAO will make the game chug like heck.Image IPB

Wrong, Wrong and Wrong.

DX11 FULLY supports DX10 cards. Go read up on DX11 on wikipedia. If you have a DX10 card, the game (and windows) just limits u to DX10 features. If you also mouse hover over each detail level, it will also tell u what DX cards support those levels :)

Here are the detail modes and their respective DX levels

Low-Med DX9
High=dx10 features
Very High = only will be available if u have a dx11 card with a Dx11 version of Windows and the game is in DX11 rendering mode

There is a DX10 mode for DA2. Highlight the High setting ingame, it says it uses DX10, you just have to use the DX11 renderer which is backwards compatible with DX10 up to High. Very High is DX11 exclusive.

I'm running 2 x 580s, and getting pretty horrible framerates. Mind you I'm running at 2560x1600, but still, I don't think graphics in this game justify the performance we're getting right now. Totally agree; either a patch is in order (already?!!?) or nVidia / AMD are going to be releasing some drivers really soon. I tend to lean towards that latter.

Cheers,

L.

Why are you running more than 4x AA , unless you run at 1200p theres no real noticable difference other than a loss of FPS.

My monitor is 1080p. Also, my CPU is only dual core and seems to be bottlenecking my GPU as I only see 85% load max even with 8xAA so I might as well push it as far as it will go.

I have a GeForce GTX 570 with the latest beta drivers, and I also get monumentally horrific performance when using DX11. DX9 runs very smooth.

I found that if you turn the setting to just High, and your FPS will be better, and you will not lose much. I still have to test it with the x8, x16. I am setting at x4, x8 right now. Edit: I am also running with High texture pack on.
My system:

I also not only have these framerate issues, but the ground looks corrupted in my game if I look at it from a certain angle.

http://steamcommunit...lor/screenshots <-- Some screenshots.

This is running on a GeForce 470 with 1280MB of RAM. Everything's on, or on very high, except for anistropic filtering (which is off) and anti-aliasing only at 2x (though I think I should be able to run at 8x). I am NOT running the high resolution pack (yet, though I plan to).

 My Rig & Settings:
I7-930 2.8GHz(auto-oc for now),evgaGTX480sc,12GB1600 3 channel, Win7Pro x64
Plays anything I throw at it ultra settings, flawless.
DX11 max settings in DA2 Unplayable. (Extremely disappointed)[smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie]
DX9 settings (worked fine in demo, will try with release after this post)Also going to try high-res texture pack + NVidia beta drivers as well

*Sigh, I don't want to play my favorite games on a tv/console unless it is specifically a console exclusive.
I want to play my favorite pc games on the rig  I've invested so much time & money building!

Side Notes/Questions to Bioware/Other Information:
I'm not going to rant about 'the death of pc gaming', you can find that information anywhere..
However, when console porting repeatedly affects once beloved franchises, and games that
I have been waiting a long time for, change my schedule for, attend midnight releases for,
and excitedly anticipate, I expect honest answers from the software developers responsible.

Why was this unpolished PC version released?  (We would have gladly welcomed a small delay)
Will Neverwinter Nights 3 be a console exclusive? (lol, never know at this rate)
Why weren't the DX11 issues fixed for release like your forum posting said?
Do you honestly care about your PC fans anymore?
Do you realize that these "Amazing changes" that deviate from the original game's formula on your latest
sequels are clearly transparent caterings to optimization for consoles in our eyes?

My frustration with how publishers/developers are handling games has boiled over with this release.
imo, this is no better than the aweful Crysis 2 PC console port coming out, or the fact that ID software (the
creators of Doom) have the devs developing 'Rage' play on console controllers first and foremost before PC
to perfect those versions first. /done. I apologize for venting my frustrations in this thread.

Hope things get worked out soon,
Dutch

I've been told the beta drivers fix the black ground issue, and improve the framerates. Apparently Nvidia is being slow with their drivers (better than bad drivers, I guess).

To the few people with 5770s: I'm running the game at 1680x1050 with everything else maxed out (including the high res pack) and it's pretty smooth. I don't know exact FPS, but there's no noticable lag or stutter.

My system:

Intel® Core™ i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz
8 gb ram
radeon 5770 (1 gb)
Windows 7 64 bit

I been messing with just the beginning part of the game over and over. I have found if you want to run DX11 with High Texture, the higher your graphic setting, at least on my rig, the lower you AA and AF has to be. If i put my AA and AF at x4, x8 then I have to run it at high, and it will from time to time dip in FPS but not much. but if i put it at x2 and x4 then I can set it to very high and it will run about the same. so if I put it on no AA and AF then I can run very high and not have a problem. or High with x2, x4 and the same happens. but again this is my rig.
