From what I've been reading there is NO auto-attack option in Console DA2?

I'll make my point very simply, they said a auto attack feature will be in the game on the consoles so I want that feature in the game on the consoles.
I don't care if they lied or made mistakes or whatever people argue about atm it's not what concerns me.
I like that feature in DA:O and want them to keep their word and put it in DA2.
Plain and simple, please resolve it asap with regard to a patch very soon.
This is how I feel exactly. It's a huge disappointment to find out that it won't be there when the game arrives.
My faith in Bioware is diminishing with every half truth they give us regarding this game.

I can't wait to get the game so I can concentrate on playing and not have to waste anymore time with this pathetic display. Oh noes, I'll have to press the X button to attack! Guess I'll just have to man-up and hope I have the endurance. Christ.

Funny I find being lied to a lot more disgusting.
How many times did they say it was in ?Why did they dodge the question at the live demo ? I'd love to live in your world it must be so simple.

If it doesn't bother you then why are you here? Whining about other people whining is even more pointless.
And people have every right to be annoyed when they've be given false information regarding something that can ruin their gameplay experience (particularly at higher difficulties).

Move on with your freakin' lives. It's as if you think by ****ing about it you'll either make the problem go away, or you'll make it resolve faster.
Again: in my LIFE I have never seen such whining for anything. Ever.

This isn't whining. This is entire feature, a major feature, that's missing from the game. "Boohoo, all the LIs are bi so I won't romance them" is whining. This is a legitimate concern about which console players are very legitimately upset. BioWare have dropped a very large, very heavy ball, and it's landed smack-dab on the toes of their console audience.

Yeah, my world is simple: when there's a hurdle in my path, I jump it. When there's dirt on my shoulder, I brush it off. Am I disappointed? Sure I am. But all this durm and strang, the handwringing, the wailing and gnashing of the teeth is a complete and other turn-off.

Whining = bad
Whining about whining = good?

If enough people complain Bioware has more incentive to fix it. It's quite different to complaining for the sake of complaining.

Yup.
Let's just all ignore the fact that a feature they said would be in the game - that they used as a selling feature - is not, actually, in the game.
Let's ignore the fact that they knew this feature was not, actually, in the game, and didn't bother to tell anyone.
Let's do that.
And next time, when they leave out something that matters to you, we can all tell you to stop whining.

SOME console players, bud. SOME. You, for example.
Others are not very legitimately upset about this at all. Others have played games before where you had to press the button over and over, so it's not a burden to them. They know how to do it. I'm a console player, and I'm mildly annoyed. To say this is a crushing disappointment is laughable to me.
But enough. You guys have fun pissing into the wind. When the patch comes out and it's finally resolved, y'all can have fun patting yourselves on the back taking all the credit. Or whatever.
Sheesh.
I'm a PC player. I'm invested in this issue purely out of principle. Which brings me to my point. It's a matter of principle. This kind of sh*t should not happen. Full stop.

Then don't come here and whine about the whiners it makes you look like a hypocrite.
Sorry but my patience is wearing thin with people coming in to fight with the people who like me would like a fix for this issue. IF your happy with spamming X by all means do so, why did you come in here along with others to defend or fight with those who were promised a feature that never appeared due to a mistake apparently during the master disc making process.
Thank you John it boosts confidence when you can see someone from the company see the validity in questions or issues regarding a product made by yourselves.
Btw would it be dubious to ask a very rough timescale for such a patch, such as maybe we talking days, weeks or months? I mean you have the code to do the change don't you so it's just a case of switching it to a patch format and getting the go ahead from M$ and Sony isn't it?

I am annoyed that this isnt in the game come release but if they can get the toggle option in the options menu with a patch so it plays like Origins then Ill be happy. Either way Ill be glad to when I can just play the game.

Just serious stress on your thumb. I'm sticking with Mages and Archers till it's fixed (maybe in time for the ultimate edition) those seem to be less "mashy".

OK: Here is the story.
Auto-attack option for consoles was added in to the games late in the development cycle after the initial certification build was sent. The auto-attack functionality was sent to be added to the game for testing and approval. This was why staff said it was in game.
Due to an error during mastering, the auto-attack file was omitted during manufacture.
We apologize for this. It was meant to be in game, but it is not currently in the console versions. We are working on how best to distribute this to console users. When we have information, we will let everyone know.
Thank you for the information!!!!
I'm very much expecting and looking forward to a patch! And I promise a happy dance when it arrives. That's assuming that the patch is a universal toggle and not a per enemy toggle... any comment on that question Chris?
