I'm still waiting on them to fix Jowans Quest bug, years on from release. I'm not holding my breath either, if these bugs such as auto attack and imported story glitch aren't fixed asap I may well not buy another Bioware game because without trust and confidence in the company making the game then I won't have any for future titles. I've noticed the devs are staying away from the forums today it seems though that may be timezone issue. From what I have been reading today however all the anticipation of playing another game in the DA series with core things that made DAO great and gave them such a large fanbase for DA in general, have gone byebye.

If wasn't for the fact someone else is buying me a copy I would not be buying it myself right now given these glitches and mistakes they have made on retail version, instead at best waiting a year to see if everything got fixed before buying a goty like UE.

ME3 may well be my last Bioware game, can't really not play it because I want to see how it ends, but no way will I buy it (rental).

I'll also be taking everything Bioware says with an even larger pinch of salt.

Just canceled me pre-order that was placed the day it was available. I mean wtf, Bioware, do you think all console-players are ADS-challenged? The button mashing makes no sense whatsoever and got extremely annyoing even during the demo very very quickly. There's no way in hell i'll be playing it like this. And no, i won't play the PC-Version instead because this way you would get my money anyway.

I just hope bioware have the idea to keep us in the loop on this as many people will be annoyed at the change maybe they should put something on SENTUAMESSAGE so players not on the forum get the idea too, and a time frame would be nice too, if no time frame then constant, it is coming msgs

So the identical file got left off both the PS3 and xbox360 master disks? Bit of a coincidence that the exact same file disappeared on both platforms, what's the odds on that?

Smell a rat? So, what other files accidentally disappeared from the master disk? Will we get 40 hours in and find the endgame boss has fallen off as well?

I'll add my voice to those asking for a quick patch. I love playing DW rogue and this will basically completely turn me off to the class. Jabbing the A button repeatedly=not fun.

Hey guys. A fellow Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 gamer here. :)

I've previously bought PS3 Mass Effect 2 on day 1 and guess what? The same thing happened to my copy of the game. But it is more of a 'bad texturing' and 'game freezing' problem.

It took a whole month before the patch came out with Bioware saying that the patch is still with Sony. And this is not the first time.
The same thing happened with the Dragon Age: Origins Witch Hunt DLC patch.

So all I can say is, good luck to you guys. But I've learnt my lesson from previous Dragon Age: Origins players as well as my own experience with PS3 Mass Effect 2.

They wanted it to be that when you pressed a button, something awesome happens. Im fine with that and all, but the problem is, if you're playing on hard or nightmare, while your busy "making something awesome happen", the rest of your party is getting raped...lol. Just fix this crap Bioware...PLEASE!!!!

They probably never intended the auto-attack to be in the console versions. They strongly believe that in oder to improve sales in todays market enviroment they have to make it more button mashy (as superflous as it may be). Just like the promise of given us germans an english language pack at day one for Mass Effect 2 ( which of course never happened) the rumor that the auto attack would be in there was just to appease the forums. They know perfectly well that the majority of customers who never visit forums won't care at all. That's EA-policy right there and now it's Bioware's too. it's a ****ing shame: making money with the ignorance of the mass market consumer while lying to the hardcore fans to shut them up. Pathetic, really. But then again it's a business.

What a major let down. I hope the console support will be better this year though.

OK: Here is the story.

Auto-attack option for consoles was added in to the games late in the development cycle after the initial certification build was sent. The auto-attack functionality was sent to be added to the game for testing and approval. This was why staff said it was in game.

Due to an error during mastering, the auto-attack file was omitted during manufacture.

We apologize for this. It was meant to be in game, but it is not currently in the console versions. We are working on how best to distribute this to console users. When we have information, we will let everyone know.

Ah that stinks. Ah well, it's not the end of the world. By the time if or when it is patched to the 360 version I'll probably be used to not having the auto-attack option like the first game.

Also, people seem to be getting WWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY too bent out of shape about this. Suggesting it's a conspiracy? Really?

I'd imagine whenever they have it ready or perhaps never. No way of telling for sure really.

The conspiracy thing is a bit OTT, but I think some people's reactions to this is understandable. The game has obviously being rushed and I'd certainly be pissed off if I'd forked out loads of money for a broken game. That's why I'm waiting for a bit before buying this game, especially if the import bugs are true. I don't want to have wasted 40+ hours perfecting a save game import only for the decisions I made to be bugged or ignored. I need to justify spending nearly £40 on a game

Like Bioware saying that the "pre-release" version was not the same as the retail and that's why no one could find an auto attack button?

Or competely sidestepping the question during the demo play on saturday ?

Why reviewers have mentioned an auto attack feature despite it not being there?

I've seen less rational conspiracy theories.

I rather enjoy the combat system. I'm one of those people who love playing games like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden, plus RPG's like Fallout 1 & 2, Baldur's Gate, Temple of Elemental Evil and loads of table-top RPG's. As far as I see it, this game has nice balance of strategy and action.

Me likey RPG like this. But sucks for those who don't like to fight and bark orders at same time. So, I do hope they will bring auto-attack option for those people asp.

And I have gotten used to games not working 100% well and having bugs, etc... So, don't soil your drawers yet, have a little patience. :)

Not conspiracy, just a recurring pattern of lazyness and "don't care" attitude as long as sales are strong enough.

They made a mistake. They admitted the mistake. They said they are trying to figure out how to best implement it. So, what's the problem?
