Really? well that sucks.
Perhaps they had intended to implement it but couldn't get it to work properly.

They confirmed it after the demo and the game gone gold. There is only two options: the people aren't enough good to find, or Bioware lied.

There are ecen 5 minutes youtube cvideos where people try to find the autoattack on the 360. So I guess it the later one. And yes they loked not in the options but at the radial menu

English not your first language?

We do not talk about pirated copies here on the forums, and those were pirated copies.

No its not but still i do make alot of stupid mistakes by not overlooking my posts XD

And how do you know these were pirated copies? You can acutually buy and play the console versions.

How do i know that MOST of the youtube vids are from pirated copies? Well since the game isnt out, and most reviewers wont post vids of their game play, thats usually the pirates. Plus it was confirmed that 360 versions got pirated.

All versions are already pirated and honestly only if you see some gameplay from a game which is 1 day away from release  it does not mean its pirated. I had Red dead for example 5 days earlier and all that legal.

Fact is that so far no one has found this option yet. atleast i am not aware of people found it.

Ugh. Either a bad mistake or an outright lie. Probably a mistake, and I wouldn't mind hitting A to attack anyway, but for such a heralded new feature you should at least get the right information from the damn developer.

Edit: Happy I was wrong.

OK: Here is the story.

Auto-attack option for consoles was added in to the games late in the development cycle after the initial certification build was sent. The auto-attack functionality was sent to be added to the game for testing and approval. This was why staff said it was in game.

Due to an error during mastering, the auto-attack file was omitted during manufacture.

We apologize for this. It was meant to be in game, but it is not currently in the console versions. We are working on how best to distribute this to console users. When we have information, we will let everyone know.

Bioware really needs to patch that feature in. It will make it too difficult to play on nightmare mode when you're having to worry about tapping the A button to attack while keeping an eye on the rest of your party. It also takes away from the strategic nature of the combat. This is a big dropped ball IMO, and I dont appreciate being lied to about it. Im still going to buy the game, but the lack of auto-attack makes NO [FRIDAY] SENSE BIOWARE!!!

Honestly, while I think Auto Attack will be great and all, its not a reason for people to get their knickers in a twist. The game will be great without it. If it comes later via a patch(the only way I can see it happeneing at this point), cool, I'll probably use it. If not, I'm still going to be playing the game at midnight tonight once I pick up my copy.

the option menu for gameplay is as follows

difficulty settings

show plot help icons
enable persistant gore
auto save
show shimmer around loot objects

for interface the options are

show damage numbers
show status effects
show minor combat details
show tutorials
show ground rings
hide helmet
always show main interface

and finally for controls you have

Y-axis sensitivity
invert Y-axis
X-axis sensitivity
invert Y-Axis
restore defaults

so unless im missing something here...its not in here at all

No auto-attack mode spamming buttons 2-3 times a second for period of hours = Arthritis. So please try to get it fixed as soon as possible. :3

I'm more worried about the fact if there was mastering issues which is the creating of the main disc for which all other copies are made from, is this the only issue thats happened with it because if there was more then it could basically be game breaking given if more things were ommited.

Reminds me of the very recent mastering issue regarding DA:O Ultimate Edition for PS3 Euro version where they put the wrong DLC under wrong name on the disc.

It's been Gold for a month, and there's not even going to be a patch ready at launch for this - even after the feature was CONFIRMED to be there by Devs?  Even after seeing what a hot topic this was?

Ouch~ can't say I'm excited about it but I'm not going to whine over that. Although now I have anything to argue against everybody's "button smashing". I will however live with the game.
