BioWare's dedication is staggering...

As staggering as the death toll during the attack on Denerim?

On the xbox 360 technical help forum we did get some bad news from a moderator:

Nathan Frederick wrote...

We're looking into these, and other issues. We do not currently have an ETA for a patch.

There will not be a patch by the end of the week - the time it takes between leaving the hands of internal testing (once we come up with a solution), through the distribution process and into your hands is more than a week alone, and completely outside our control.

For context the full thread is viewable here: http://social.biowar...1/index/6414722

Because, naturally, they have no reason to work on a patch until we've raised hell. <_<

The sarcasm wasn't aimed at you, to be clear.

OK: Here is the story.

Auto-attack option for consoles was added in to the games late in the development cycle after the initial certification build was sent. The auto-attack functionality was sent to be added to the game for testing and approval. This was why staff said it was in game.

Due to an error during mastering, the auto-attack file was omitted during manufacture.

We apologize for this. It was meant to be in game, but it is not currently in the console versions. We are working on how best to distribute this to console users. When we have information, we will let everyone know.

I get where people are coming from but it has been expressed too many times now. I do suggest a patch as soon as you can and I don't doubt one will come but also give the complaints a little bit of a break, mistakes are made.

They're "looking into" the auto attack issue? LOL. The first report was that THE FEATURE WAS ALREADY COMPLETED AND IMPLEMENTED, but there was a "mastering error"... Sounds simple enough, just submit the completed code for a patch.. There shouldn't be any testing needed, because the feature was already complete right??

LOL. Funny lies are funny.

Keep looking into it guys.. eventually we'll go away right?

The mistakes in Dragon Age:Origins can be forgiven.  But these?  A few of them are REPEATS of bugs they had in the original game and its DLC.  This is just sloppy and lazy QA testing.  Every soul in the testing department should be sacked.  I'm not kidding.  Their quality of work has taken a nose dive.  A few more iterations, and Bioware will be right up there with Obsidian for releasing buggy games with patches not soon to follow.

the gametrailers video review also says no autoattack on consoles, only PC.

SO chris lied, nothing new there then.

My game has been posted (UK) so I won't get it until Friday night when I get home, may just phone up play and return it upopened and go play Homefront next week. After all as a cod player DA2 is aimed at me right, and Homefront is more COD than this, so why should I play it when Bioware want me to play COD games!!

I have more concerns over strange graphics glitches that I've seen and that some people have had corrupted saves. IMO, those should be the priority for a patch.

Gametrailers Review shows that the 360-Version stutters and grinds to a halt in battle. Great job Bioware! You dumbed it down so that it appeals more to us console players (i don't think we ever asked for dumbing down or less content, thank you very much) and now the console versions don't even work?

For the record, I did try to warn people before the game came out, but it got locked instantly, makes you wonder doesn't it?

It certainly does. There have been countless threads locked concerning things like this for no apparent reason. Sometimes the dev who locks the thread will say that a similar discussion is already happening and link to a completely unrelated thread.
A thread I started about the story and its lackluster pace and abrubpt ending being so much like Awakening and my concern that Bioware's writing has taken a distinct dive was completely erased. They didn't even try to say it was stepping on the toes of another topic, they just erased it.

Also, notice how they didn't have a solution ready within the time it went gold, until the time it was released(a month)? No, but they had DLC ready DAY ONE.

Wow.

 Shameful. This reeks of gamesmanship.

Did Bioware know about this before release day? You damn right they did.No way they didn't.

The only conclusion that can be drawn from their delay in addressing/confronting the issue is they knew how damaging it would be. And they certainly didn't want to impact launch day sales. Shameful. Not unexpected from a company going for a mad money dash, but still shameful.

best post in the PS3 tech support forum then as the DEVS/MODS never go in there, the PS3 is to awesome for them to comprehend and they runaway. Well they didn't for Origins so its a safe bet they won't know!!

One thing is for sure. I have the Signature Edition, but I refuse to play it until the auto-attack option gets patched in. Bioware not catching this is just ridiculous. I find myself believing that it wasn't even in the console versions from the get-go until an uproar started about all the button-mashing. If Dragon Age had started off with that kind of gameplay in Origins and Awakening, then I'd be fine doing it now. But it didn't start that way and frankly, it just felt damn odd in the DAII demo.

Has there been any other statement offered or a guestimate on when this huge fisting that we've all taken will be rectified? Because I too refuse to play this until Bioware corrects this.
