From what I've been reading there is NO auto-attack option in Console DA2?

"No one, for instance, has found any means of traveling--either over great distances or small ones--beyond putting one foot in front of the other. The immutable nature of the physical world prevents this."
-From the Lectures of First Enchanter Wenselus (found inside Gamlen's home)
Despite that, enemy mages teleport across battlefields. Anyone else notice anything?

If this really was just 'left off the disk' that means it's now sitting with Microsoft waiting for them to okay the rollout via a patch, right?
Right?
I don't... "get" that. I mean, he can't mean it was physically left off the disc, because the game is compiled, and files are archived, and then a disc image is made. So, surely he means that it was missed in the compiling/archiving round. Which just seems... Bizarre. I mean, it's like saying that the final release build is actually incomplete. Which, I suppose, it is. But... Just so odd.

Finding it okay on the mage, but when playing the thief my thumb gets sore.wicked_being wrote...
Button mashing can be quite satisfying, I quite like the lack of AA.
The good news is that putting in the option to auto-attack won't force you to use it and will mean we can both play the way we like.

No, with Chris's scenario, the file going to Mastering means it was aleady approved.
With Mike's scenario, it is on our game disk, but invisible so we see no choice to use it.
Chris's seems more logical, Mike's doesn''t because I can't see how something invisible can be tested. If it can't be tested, it can't be approved so it shouldn't be on the released game disks. So then we can go back to Chris's that it had to be fixed, then approved and that fixed one didn't make it to the disk in Mastering.
But then Mike says it is on the disc. Probably internal communication getting info from the wrong people. Much like whispering something to the person next to you and by the time that whisper gets to the person at the end of the line it is different.
And by the time we have the patch is done all this is moot. But the damage to their trust isn't.

I don't care. Go find a thread about your love of button mashing in that case.
So I've decided to go ahead and play. I'm enjoying the game despite my frustration but I really would love a fix soon. Most of all I want a straight response regarding what is going on though. I fail to see why Bioware thinks it's okay to leave us in the dark like this.

Relax kid. I didn't say I don't care if we never get the AA option.untoldsarcasm wrote...

um. . . bioware; just because we have A and X buttons, doesn't mean we like to tap them 20,000 times per fight.
Have an auto-attack for crying out loud. . .
But you have to push buttons. Otherwise nothing awesome happens!
Knowing EA, the fix will be included an all future DLCs.

For people trolling in here there is no need for it since it does you no harm if the option is there for others whether you choose to use it or not so we don't need to know about how much you love to press buttons or why you feel like must degrade yourself to the level of trolling those who do want the option as promised.
