From what I've been reading there is NO auto-attack option in Console DA2?

Such as the following explanations:
1) File was made, sent, but never implemented by the manufacturing company
2) File -was- implemented, but doesn't appear due to a bug
3) The issue is being "investigated" and a patch is being "aggressively" worked on (this conflicts with the 1st explanation, not the 2nd)

I doubt they will sticky this thread because of the controversy we all bring up. Nice summary Vaille and sig Shiro! One thing not mentioned, as was brought up early on in this thread, is number one above was said after anyone could cancel their online pre-order, they were in-process/delivery so impossible. Also stated any BW statements saying it was in the game thought it was and didn't know that it wasn't. So that cancels out Shiro's sig.

But then, there is Mike's interview, numbers 2 and 3 above, just recently that voids number 1. We are still not sure which is correct. What happens actually when Sony and MS evaluate/test a game or a patch or addition to a game prior to production? Is it good enough to catch an invisible feature? Or did they pass the game not knowing the AA feature was there to be even tested? (invisible bug).

I  could say a few more things but really don't want to chance getting banned. Just say I am not happy with the way they are handling this and should have 1 person to address this issue so they are consistant with their comments. A friend told me years ago, Don't let anyone P  down your back and tell you it's raining.

If someone can't be consistent in informing you why something happened it doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't a simple error but it doesn't exactly lend and credence to one's believability either.

If a detective visits you several times to try and ascertain your involvement in a crime and you keep giving different answers it doesn't mean 100% that you are guilty but that detective just might start treating you like you are and it will be much more difficult for you to clear your name.

If Bioware are not lying about this they didn't do a good job of showing that.

Fine mistakes happen, no one denys that, but whats not helping is the lack of communication from them.  Also how could something like this be overlooked in the first place?

Quite laughable.

I agree. It seems to me that they want me to believe they make a master copy to make hundreds of thousands of copies of an xbox disc from but they don't test that master on the Xbox system before they make hundreds of thousands of copies of it. Seems like non-sense to me.

Edit: I was trying to point out earlier that IF it was a simple mistake they did a poor job in making it look like one. Instead they did the opposite and made it appear to be some kind of intentional plan to dupe their customers. Baffling.

Years of Playing Mario Party 2 as a kid makes this 'button-mashing' a joke. I don't see blisters on my hands!

I can't stand PC gaming at times, because of auto-attack. It's the immersion-killer for me and I don't quite know why. Then again I never did use automatics in WW2 shooters.
Besides, I move a lot when fighting, so it's rather funky to play this game on PC where I've gotta deal with the camera, pointing and clicking. I like it on the console.

I suddenly feel like I've walked into the wrong thread... *slides out by repeatedly tapping back button*

Its been over two weeks since the game came out. I would at least be happy if we could get some sort of official word that they are/are not working on fixing this in a patch (besides the initial statement that it was supposed to be included in the game and that they are "working on it")

Fingers crossed for a patch on this soon.

I enjoyed the game a lot but I think I will wait until there is an auto-attack back in-game before any further playthroughs.

(Looks over at his copy of Mass Effect 2) Hmmmmm...

If this doesn't make it into the game in spite of the FACT that Bioware already said it WAS in the game I just don't really know what to say ... I'll be sad and angry. ME3 is already looking to be my last Bioware title but if they can't live up to this obligation then I might even just have to youtube the story of ME3. That would make me even more sad. How lame.

Yeah, I'm starting to be very worried about ME3.
The dev cycle is less than ME2, but more than DA2. Considering that they don't have any loose ends to keep open, I'm trying to stay optimistic.
