I don't want to come across as too extreme over this but the only frame of reference I have are my experiences dealing with customers in various professional positions in my life. If I told a customer something was going to be in a final product they were about to buy from me, or that I could accomplish a goal with a service I was providing, and those claims turned out to be false I would be bending over backwards to make it up to them.

When I used to do service work (residential/commercial but mainly commercial) all work I did was warrantied for 30 days after time of service. I was a PURE COMMISION employee (meaning I only got paid if the clients paid). If the clinet had a problem with my work or had to have me back to address the same problem my return service was FREE OF CHARGE. Meaning I literally worked entirely for free on return calls if I didn't get it right the first time.

If I was in Bioware's situation I would be on these boards communicating with my customers in a frank and open manner and the fact they aren't is just upsetting and sad.

You don't come off as too extreme at all. Like the rest of us, you're simply concerned because a promised feature was never implemented.

It's been 17 days now.
When's the patch coming?

At this point I think you could say that there is absolutely no commitment to fixing this quickly or efficiently. For anyone curious, Mike Laidlaw himself said directly in an X-Play preview that auto attack was in for consoles.

Not extreme in the least Monkey, it is called, simply, integrity. Which I am proud to say you have.

I just don't understand lol. This probably is some kind of collosal error but it just seems they have handled it pooorly. Also patch is taking WAY too long for something that apparently was already working.

MS gives developers one free Title Update ... perhaps EA decided that Bioware shall only release one update for the consoles? (that dosn't really make sense either I know ...) I have no idea what's going on I just know that I would have handled this differently.

You figure it wouldn't take much for someone from Bioware to just stop by and say a patch is being worked on. So much for customer appreciation.

Someone for Bioware did chime in and explained why the auto-attack feature was not included in the console version of DA2 and that there were working on a fix.

I don't think pointing fingers and yelling "liar!" is going to make that patch show up any sooner.

If you could Auto attack .
The Awesome factor would go down significantly .
1 button push = Awesome.
10,000 = Super Awesome , you are getting full value.
Why Change it.

well I doubt it will show up any later, the fact that it's taken this long and there has been limited response regarding game breaking bugs like the thumbs up glitch are very disturbing. Been through this with Fallout NV pretty pathetic if Bioware pulls the same stunt. An update on the patch should at the very least have happened by now.

This game is almost unplayable without an auto-attack unless you are a lunatic or own some kind of a turbo controller.

I already returned my copy so too little too late Bioware.

You F.....D UP and that's that. :bandit:

I think they should take a look at what the developers of Two Worlds did. Game was just as bad, and what did they do? They agreed with the fans, added tons of humor and had a great time with their fans about how it turned out. Left the fans with a smile on their faces. They came out much later with Two Worlds 2, fixed everything that was wrong with the original and made it better. Their fanbase was there for the new release because the devs never lost their trust and rode the bad release storm with them. I give kudo's to the person on the TW dev team that recommended they join the forum fray with humor and owning up to the issues the fans/customers were having. After reading that I decided to buy TW2, and even if I didn't like it they deserved my coin for doing something bold no other dev company has ever done.

And I must say that anyone wanting a nice open world rpg to play, give TW2 a try while waiting on patches here. There are also console commands on the web for adjusting graphics, etc on all platforms. But if you do, you still have to come here and bump this thread :P

True that Chris did come here and say the feature didn't make it on the master production disc because of a mistake. But that means it is done, where is it? But then the second comment you made has to do with a comment Mike made in an interview not long ago that said that yes the feature was definately in the game and on the disc. The icon on the wheel was just invisible, so they are working on a patch.

It's been two weeks and most of us have already completed the game while killing our thumbs. And considering how this product offers little to no replay value, there's no excuse.

I dont understand how anyone could think that this is acceptable.

Well that is the general consensus. We don't and they do. I think most have completed the game by now, I have. Replay is zip as far as I'm concerned. I just come here now because I am a Bioware fan pre DA2 and want to add my 2 coppers in fan support. Not sure if it is patched if I'll even play it again. It is one of those games "been there, done that, toss it in the box".

Maybe we can get those guys who did that great Mass Effect 2 planet scanning song to do one for DA2 ... "Those Minerals" I think it's called.

lol here iin case anyone missed it:

They said 'right now we are trying to figure out how to bring auto-attack to consoles'. Knowing them and their utter lack of support with Awakening I wouldnt be surprised if this thread drags on until Dragon Age 3 comes out and we never get anything...

I'll tell you what happened. They didnt include the file in the original master because it wasnt complete or bugged. Then they fixed it, community told us it was available, but then TPTB wouldnt pay the 25k for a re-cert. So it shipped as is.

LOL DUDEZZ SOMETHING WRONG WITH MASTER DISKKKKK

Well where is the auto-attack? How far along is the implementation. Is it definitely coming with the first patch? These questions are all easily answered.
