From what I've been reading there is NO auto-attack option in Console DA2?

I thnk the game should have three options to address this issue:
1. Auto-Attack Option
2. Continual Input Option (ie. just hold down A)
3. Mash Button Option
None of these options makes the other impossible and noe of them detract from anybodies ability to employ the option they most prefer or even a mix of all three.
The above suggestion seems so logical to me it is baffling why it wasn't done like this.

Now I have someoone from Hightown Forums trying to tell me that Auto-Attack was working in the Xbox 360 demo??? This whole thing is out of control. Does Bioware brainwash people?

She later admitted that she played both the PC and 360 demos, so it was probably just that she remembered the AA option from the PC version(I assume the PC demo did have it?) as being in the Xbox version.
Also, for the rest of you frustrated folks(like myself), I'd suggest doing an Origins run through while you wait, it's a great way to enjoy DA while also passing time that (hopefully) puts us closer to patch release.
I'm about 70% through an evil Dwarf commoner weapon/shield warrior playthrough that is keeping me happy and distracting me from DA2 glitches and how long it is taking to patch. I honestly think that Bioware's patches are stuck in Microsoft/Sony QA at this point and will eventually be out in the next couple weeks or so.
P.S. Thanks to all those of you keeping this thread alive and on the first couple pages.

Everything from Bioware should be treated as meaningless and maybe just outright lies with not accountability or credibility.

and how can you lose something like this in mastering? i mean seriously, i'm not buying it.
Maybe they just couldnt get it to work in time for the games release, & now they are spending time on fixing it for a patch.

Well, it is getting on a bit now and there's been no further mention of the issue, even in interviews when the game's problems are "discussed".
I only just found out that Amazon are accepting returns on all copies of DA2 within 30 days, even if they have been opened. I wish I'd pre-ordered with them instead as I could have had my money back instead of looking at an expensive bookend sat collecting dust on a shelf.
I guess the only positive for me so far is that I've managed to play some of the backlog of games I've amassed.

Yeah, basically.
I've had a bad experience with purchasing games recently. First Fable III, now this.
