From what I've been reading there is NO auto-attack option in Console DA2?

A little off-topic, imho the faster game play makes it less of 'Think like a general' (like DAO) and more like 'Fight like a Spartan' (GoW) which i'm not a big fan of.

So another week of not playing a game I bought. A whole ****ing month of refusing to patch a problem they were aware of before launch.

I've actually set the difficulty from hard back to casual, just so i don't really have to keep attacking and use simple spells.

If you want to play pre-patch I would strongly agree with switching it to casual and just blow though combat as quickly as possble. With properly set tactics and a decent team you don't even have to have your main attack at all. This will also mean you lose less time if you run into a badly broken quest and want to restart when the patch comes out.

Their QA/Testing team is lackluster.
The excuses are unforgivable.

Exactly. Just becasaue PC player click mouse all the time didn't mean that Diablo 2 allowing for continual input for attacks wasn't heralded as a triumph in the control scheme.

I agree.
As with all things, when a company does the above and puts out a poor product, you just don't purchase from them again. Doesn't matter what the product is or the company, it is a way to have more coin in your pocket especially with the state of the economy. I do wish Bioware success in the future.

Slight annoyance but certainly not worth 45 pages of cringe-worthy whining. Get real, Bioware doesn't owe you anything and after the incessant moaning that has surrounded this game since pre-release I sincerely hope the lads over the BW go out of their way to add auto-attack.. but make it bugged so it remains un-usable anyway.
Some of you are too young to understand this, but BW is a business and they certainly aren't out to please a minority.
Personally I think DA2 is a good game, certainly not what I was expecting and not without it's faults but I still want to give it at least another replay. I'm on board with the likes of IGN where I I recognize the games shortcomings but what it does right is so pleasing you can't help but keep playing.

Didn't mind too much. When I got to a decent level on my rogue the only time I was using attack was when I was using haste or that skill that guarantees you crits.

Cool story, bro. Glad you're happy with button mashing, doesn't mean it should be the only option.

If Bioware's goal is to lose all the credibility they've built up through the years, they're doing a good job.
Played through Arrival yesterday as well... gah.
WHat happen :/

Well aren't you in luck!
I'm well aware that you mentioned an auto-attack should be included. I also noticed that you mentioned it should be bugged to the point of unusability. Real adult.

So apparently the "omission in the mastering" is proving a challenge. Game supposedly took 18 months to make yet autoattack is taking a month on its own to be put back in? I'm calling bull**** on this.

Exactly. BioWare is clearly showing that their priority is no longer quality over quantity.

What does your opinion of the quality of the game have to do with anything? just because you don't have a problem with it, no one else should? The problem is that it wasn't in the demo, people brought it up, and Bioware lied about it being there in the retail version...
I like the game, I played through it twice as an archer and mage because I love the story and character interaction. And my right thumb felt cramped for a week after. It's a good game (or not depending on who you ask), but some people expected and were counting on auto-attack to be in there because it's not that huge of a deal to have in, was in the previous game, and makes managing your party and combat situations much easier.
I also have a controller I can't use regularly anymore because the A button sticks after constantly mashing attack endlessly. It was just senseless to take it out, and my buddy--a HUGE DA:O fan-has no desire to play it in part because of this. I will get Mass Effect 3 because I , like many others, want to finish the story yada yada yada, but without a doubt Bioware has gone from my favorite company to barely on my radar. I would not have bought Dragon Age 2 new if I'd known auto-attack wasn't in, it's simply annoying, and ME3 will be the last Bioware game I'll buy unless they can turn this franchise around. I loved DA:O, but it's just too much, it's too much! I'm not mad...just disappointed

Yep, exactly. Mass Effect 3 is a day one purchase for me (well, figuratively speaking, since I'll probably be away when it's released). But after that, I'm waiting for a good deal of reviews before picking any up.
At least the up side is, now I'm all the more excited for Skyrim.
