Downloaded the demo, starts up fine, once the first video starts after character creation I cannot hear the voices and the footsteps and other sounds that I can hear are mostly static. This continues through both videos and actual gameplay which i only tried for a few minutes because the sound was so bad and I couldnt hear anything.

Tried the force stereo option and still have the same issue. Any ideas?

I'm having this exact same problem as well.

I am using Logitech G35 headsets and I can hear most the sounds and music, but no voice during cutscenes. Is this related I wonder?

Turn on the forc stereo sound in audio options.

As stated in my original post the very first thing I did was try the force stereo option. This is not an issue with not hearing sounds.

I recently tried playing the demo again and have the exact same issue through the first 10 minutes or so of gameplay, after which all the sound problems seem to stop and I can hear everything just fine. Very strange and very annoying.

I'm not sure about what the problem comes from but as usually try to update the drivers for your audio card and check what settings you have in the configuration tool for your audio card
