Thank you so much for your work, combat was absolutely awesome!
The problems with companions not follwing orders have to do with the way tactics are prioritized. You tell your people to go somewhere, then one of the tactics ( e.g.: just targeting somebody ) reacts, and they stop walking... Really frustrating when Varric or Anders walks straight into your Whirlwind and gets instagibbed, not to speak of the fact that all melee companions have to be put on hold ^^
Still, totally worth it!

Hmm, there's a problem with how you have Panacea set to deactivate. Because Hawke is usually above 50% HP, it sometimes ends up being canceled before Anders can cast aid allies or regroup. Soon as it's deactivated, it's put on CD as well. Ideally, you don't want Panacea to be deactivated until the group is full HP again, but tactics don't work outside combat thus it won't trigger until you enter combat again (pretty much defeating the purpose of managing it for mana use). Really, really poor talent design forcing you to use such a draining ability just to rez.Why not spec into it and decide for yourself?Hank_Da_Tank wrote...
is second wind worth it?
The panacea tactic has been working for me, all companions are expendable except Hawke so I think its good that its tied to hawkes health. Keeping panacea active at all times makes anders have no mana for anything.

The fact that it works on most bosses is truly broken, agreed. I just got Righteous Strike and I'll laugh so hard if the silence proc also works on bosses. Did they even attempt to balance this game?iLikeBWgames wrote...
Firstly, it showed me the power of Silence. It must be the most game-breaking skill on Nightmare, because it neutralizes so many difficult opponents.
I dont think its broken at all. If Silence did not work on most bosses then templar would be a horrible and worthless specialization. Templar tree is based on 2 things, silences and magic resistance. Silence is already buggy in that you cannot silence someone who is already in animation for casting (even though u could have stunned them to interrupt). Reaver and Berserker are already arguably as strong or stronger then templar.

Is there a better weapon than Limbtaker later on in chap 3? I want to use the lyrium rune in the endgame weapon but I'm not sure if there is a superior 2H beyond Limbtaker.
Blade of Mercy, Bloom, Celebrant. Most of the hardest bosses are weak to cold or spirit. Blade of Mercy is probably the best physical damage 2 hander, while Bloom and Celebrant are great vs bosses.

Sorry to belabor this, but I just left the Deep Roads, but I didn't find anyone to buy this from... Who sells it, and is it actually IN the Deep Roads?
Pretty sure he means right at the beginning of Act II. If you do everything, you're level 13 at that point.

Sabre, you might be the luckiest DA2 player of all-time. I've never seen AI companions so useful until I watched your videos. Kudos to somehow managing to not have AI run towards AoE attacks and ignore "Move to" commands.
They constantly ignore my commands, watch my Hubris video. I spam commands at least 10 times so that my companions might actually listen.

I would tend to agree if the core mechanic of the spell wasn't already OP. Being able to shut down a boss and limit attacks to auto for 20s is totally broken. It tivializes the encounter and boss mechanics altogether, which defeats the purpose of a boss fight.Sabresandiego wrote...

From act 1-2, the game actually felt really challenging and engaging as a 2H tank, but now I'm finding myself bored with steamrolling the second half of the game. Leveling up and growing stronger should feel rewarding, but I'm finding it's the complete opposite. You could argue that not using silence might make it more challenging, but that goes against my entire nature of min/maxing.

Any idea what the set bonus for the armor of the champion is? Is that the best bet for end game armor or should I focus mainly on +physical% if I'm using a pure physical weapon?

Just from reviewing your Varterral kill, it does appear the graphic for silence wears off at ~10s each time but without a debuff bar, who knows for sure. That brings up another question I've had: when to use cleanse? Obvious effects, such as barriers aside, what is truly being removed from the area/enemies? WTB combat log lol.Sabresandiego wrote...
Silence doesnt last 20 seconds on bosses, it lasts a much reduced amount of time.

I've been wondering this as well. I'm pretty sure I've inadvertantly cleased Ander's runes of paralasis a few times.

I just spammed it against deamons (desire and pride mostly), arcane horrors, mages and enemy commanders (they're supposed to have some buffs that work aoe for their friendlies, so I guess cleanse might remove them). Without more combat information it's really hard to tell when to cleanse, or what is it that you're actually removing.Jodou wrote...

There are three versions of the Armor of the Champion, one for each class. The set bonus for each varies. The Warrior version gives +3 Strength and +5% Armor. The pieces give 661 armor total, so add in the 5%, and you should be looking at 694-695 armor total (the actual number is a decimal, but I'm not sure how this game handles decimals). This assumes, of course, that you don't have other equipment (weapon and accessories) that also increase armor.

Do you respec Control for might? Or are you supposed to have both? How did you have enough money at lvl 6 to buy the tome? I only have 12 sobs right now.
One of the core abilities of this build is Cleave. Getting Cleave requires you to have both Control and Might. So you need to have both.
As for money, I've never managed to get that much gold that fast. I just picked up my first Tome at Level 8, and only have 7 Sovereigns right now. I have no idea how Sabre is getting money that fast.

1. Scythe. As long as you're aiming mostly at them, it will hit. Even un-upgraded, it's got a solid chunk of physical force behind it.
2. Mighty Blow. Extra damage while they're down. If you're feeling gutsy, wait until they're back up, then use it to try to knock them down again.
3. Wait until they stealth, then use Whirlwind. Whirlwind is an AoE, so it hits them and knocks them out of stealth, allowing you to wail on them.
Note that I did this on Normal, so I'm not sure how the tactic performs on nightmare, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Written by a Fereldan refugee as she fled the Blight, this book of poems describes her dreams of a new start in Kirkwall, the city across the sea. Readers will surely be enriched by her insights.
Gives 5g when picked up
This is a bonus item that comes with the game for some people.
